'Bible Research Tools' was kind enough to supply me with another example of professional creationists spreading lies (or exhibiting gross incompetence... or engaging in purposeful deception...) to their under-informed target audience when he linked to this essay:

It’s all talk,Tiktaalik can’t walk

by one Warren Nunn, a 'newspaper journalist.'

In it, we see a reference to another essay, in which we see:

"In 2006, Dr Jonathan Sarfati considered the evidence and pointed out that Tiktaaliks fin was not connected to the main skeleton, so could not have supported its weight on land."

Jon Sarfati - chemist - yakking about fossils and physiology. Hilarious! He, too makes the same erroneous claim Menton did - thinking that there must be a bone-to-bone articulation between the 'fin' and the 'main skeleton' in order for something to walk on land.

This will be news to elephants. And bison. And tigers. And so on. All of whom lack such a connection, yet seem to be doing OK.

It will be a great day when professional creationists stop employing the fallacious argumentum ad verecundiam* to awe their uninformed target audience into believing whatever nonsense they are peddling.

*most interesting as Sarfati is famous for lambasting non-creationists for speaking/writing outside of their specific area of expertise...

Strange, (well, not really strange - rather common) using false information to call someone else(who might be right or wrong- doesn't matter for this )
a liar .

Are you saying that elephants really do have direct bone-to-bone connections to their axial skeleton? DO TELL, Mr.Vertebrate Anatomy expert! Do tell!

Beasts, birds, reptiles and all kinds of sea-creatures can be, and in fact are, tamed by man, but no one can tame the human tongue. It is an evil always liable to break out, and the poison it spreads is deadly. We use the tongue to bless our Father, God, and we use the same tongue to curse our fellow-men, who are all created in God’s likeness. Blessing and curses come out of the same mouth—surely, my brothers, this is the sort of thing that never ought to happen! Have you ever known a spring to give sweet and bitter water simultaneously? Have you ever seen a fig-tree with a crop of olives, or seen figs growing on a vine? It is just as impossible for a spring to give fresh and salt water at the same time.

So how is it that elephant and buffalo legs are not attached?
Which animals do have attached legs by comparison?

I think God created life and some creatures went one way and other creatures went another way. Some were born strong, others born weak. Some had good memories, others did not. I do not think a peacock painted those colors on their feathers.

I have read there are walking catfish in Florida. I have not seen one. I could not say they do not exist.

You know that words that are blue are links, yes?

I suggest you click on the blue words in the OP.

Which animals do have attached legs by comparison?
Human forelimbs have one (keep in mind, we are talking forelimbs specifically - I won't mention now that Menton and other YECs lied about the pelvis, too). Many tetrapods do - it is just that the the claimed "requirement" for this attachment to be present in order to walk on land is obviously either a lie, purposeful deception, or due to the ignorance of the one making the claim (in this case, YEC chemist Sarfati - but YEC anatomist Menton made the same claim, which is even worse, IMO).

(for example)
Then what is your explanation for the claims of Sarfati and Menton re: Tiktaalik?

Several years ago, I spotted a false claim in an essay on the "TrueOrigins" website. I knew it was false because it had to do with a paper that one of my colleagues had published. I contacted the site's admin and presented the documentation that this essay contained false information. The YEC admin replied that since he had not written the essay himself, he could do nothing. As far as I know, that essay containing a documented false claim is still available on that Christian creationist website.

What do you consider the person that knowingly allows an essay containing a false claim to remain available for public consumption?

So you're a Trump kool aider, too... Figures...
You're cool with a serial adulterer and worshipper of wealth? These weird cafeteria Christians are something else.

So is this your concession that Sarfati is a liar or at least incompetent?

I've ignored Trump for 20 years.
But, I am always amazed when I look around at all
the benefits we get caused by wealth accumulation.

I look at 10 bricks in a building and think about the
effort to make those bricks, transport them there
then stack them and create just 5 feet, in one layer,
of one building.

I could pay for the replacement of some of those
bricks, but I don't have it on me today.

The front legs (shoulders) of most mammals don't have a "bone-to-bone" connection. I'm not sure about creatures such as Tiktaalik.

Few secular information sources could pass that test. We are bombarded with false information every moment of every day. Thankfully most have a "BS" filter else we would all be like "Stepford Wives" gobbling up everything some talking head tries to feed us. :waaah:

Powerful, rich, charismatic people (including women) do that. JFK makes Trump look like an amateur. Remember him? He is still revered today in spite of his philandering and adulterous history.
