CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I've been lurking wondering where I could post a quick "hello", so I'll do so here if it's okay. My husband and I are Messianic believers, relatively new to studying Torah, and rather isolated from any other Messianics as we live in Eastern Montana. The internet is our only consistent connection with other Messianics, though for now we do fellowship with a non-denominational church on Sundays. We're the pleased and blessed parents of six beautiful children, and we're all excited to be preparing for Channukah (and not christmassing 
). I have appreciated and enjoyed the discussions I have been reading here, and look forward to reading more. I hope it was okay for me to post this here .

CHRISMASSING???
C'mon Henaynei, no need to offend us (just kidding)
In fact, being from Brazil, my family is planning on a Christmas meal with lots of bacon, ham, shrimp, rabbits and some sort of chicken cooked in its own blood. Who wants to join us?????
Actually, I think I'll bring my own kosher-peanut butter jelly sandwiches... LOL!

The other day, my parents called. As we were chatting, they innocently asked me if we'll be having a christmas tree. "Noooo... probably not a tree." I usually REALLY try to avoid these topics of discussion with my folks nowadays, as we have sorta been around and around about many already, years ago -- DH and I grew up very observant RC, and DH and I grew out of the "church" about 10 years ago.
SO... (back to my hopefully-entertaining story) My dad says we need to have a tree... after all we should be celebrating the Savior's birth
and I just had to mention that He wasn't born in December, in the first place ... so ensues a brief but respectful history lesson from Daughter to Parents. My mom replies with, "well, so do you have a tree THEN?" (meaning, during Sukkot) "Um, no Mom." I let it drop 
. Oh boy.

I found my answers when a newbie in the Suggestions, Bugs and Help forum. Go to the main CF page - itis near the top of the page - just page through the threads until you find ont where it looks like someone had the same question you doZemirah said:Okay, so now I have a lot of blessings but my reputation went down.
Dr Loh and staff have done an excellent job with CF and someone on the staff answers fairly quickly in that forum
