    When we are changed in the twinkling of an eye where are we going? Looked for scripture saying we are going to heaven as the many claim and found none. Are there any scriptures that say we are going to heaven at this time?

    Good question.

    Where else would we go?

    Well, it says when we meet Him in the air, we will forever be with Him. So the question is not where do we go, but where does he go. We are also told in Acts 2 that He is seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven until His enemies become His footstool.

    If He's in Heaven and we're with Him, then we're in heaven as well at that time. Later, when He comes back to the earth, we also come with Him.

    JOHN 3 [12] If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? [13] And NO MAN HATH ASCENDED UP TO HEAVEN, BUT HE THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

    Im sure its not heaven

    Nope

    JOHN 7 [33] Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I GO UNTO HIM THAT SENT ME.[34] Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and WHERE I AM, THITHER YE CANNOT COME.

    Context is key with that verse. He's not speaking to His followers, rather He's speaking to those who are actively trying to kill Him. In verse 28, He plainly tells them that they do not know the Father. Of course they can't go where He's going.

    And again

    JOHN 3 [12] If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? [13] And NO MAN HATH ASCENDED UP TO HEAVEN, BUT HE THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, even the Son of man which is in heaven

    At that time, no one had. But then He died, was resurrected, ascended, tore the temple veil in two indicating the barrier no longer existed, etc.

    JOHN 13 [33] Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

    ISAIAH 27 {12} And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and YE SHALL BE GATHERED ONE BY ONE, O YE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL. {13} And it shall come to pass in that day, that THE GREAT TRUMPET SHALL BE BLOWN, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, AND SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE HOLY MOUNT AT JERUSALEM.

    In this scripture from Isaiah you see the “last trumpet” being blown. The gathering of His people {in the twinkling of an eye}. Are they goin to heaven as the Rapturist claim? Nope. There headin for the holy mountain, Zion, the new Jerusalem for the 1000yr period of rest

    Interesting take on it.

    Why is there, as you say, a "1,000 years of rest"?

    It's one of those things that goes without saying. It's not nice to talk about. People can't face it. We might not have to go Home, but we can't stay here. There's a better Home awaiting in the sky Lord in the sky.

    "The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath.

    This is total destruction. All three "third"s are destroyed. Up until this point, wrath was diluted, or mixed with mercy, mixed with blood. A third of the trees, a third of the ships, a third of the day and a third of mankind. But two "thirds" here are spared. At the second coming wrath is poured without mixture, without mercy, the cup is drained.

    The time has come for God to destroy the destroyer's of the earth. How did they destroy the earth? What comes first, the chicken or the egg? If I take a running leap off of the Empire State building, did I destroy myself? Or did God's Law of gravity destroy me. Was it really the Sodomites that destroyed their own Great City by provoking the wrath and falling into the Hands of an almighty God? It's a terrible thing.

    "And that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.

    Whom heaven must receive until the time comes to restore "all things". The time to restore "all things" isn't until after the thousand years of Revelation 20:

    "And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making "all things" new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

    We shoot up like a flash and light up the stratosphere, they will see the sign of the Son of Man and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. And He will send His angels to gather us from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

    Then it's a quick 3.5 minute trip to New Jerusalem at mach 95. Heaven was never that far away.

    "But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

    "My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

    Revelation 20:6 (KJV)
    6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

    I'm back.

    What is the purpose of the "1,000 years of rest"?

    More later. For now, if you would be so kind as to respond to the above question.

    Thank you kindly.

    Not sure of the purpose. But it can be found in the creation week

    MARK 9 [1] And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall NOT TASTE OF DEATH, TILL THEY HAVE SEEN THE KINGDOM OF GOD come with power.[2] AND AFTER SIX DAYS Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

    AFTER 6 days {Mark 9 v.2}

    2 PETER 3 [7] But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto FIRE AGAINST THE DAY OF JUDGMENT and perdition of ungodly men.[8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that ONE DAY IS WITH THE LORD AS A THOUSAND YEARS, and a thousand years as one day.

    CREATION

    day 1

    day 2

    day 3

    day 4 {Jesus comes the end of day 4}

    day 5

    day 6 {Jesus returns the end of day 6}

    day 7 {1000 yr period of rest)

    End of day 4 till the end of day 6 {scripture below}

    HOSEA 6 [1] Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.[2] AFTER TWO DAYS will he revive us: IN THE THIRD DAY HE WILL RAISE US UP, AND WE SHALL LIVE IN HIS SIGHT.

    That 3rd day in which we shall live in sight is the 1000yr period of rest. All things were created in 6 days and the 7th was a day of rest (the sabbath). A DAY IS AS A 1000 YRS TO THE LORD. Revelations says there will be a 1000 yr period of rest set up after Christ returns. We are nearing the end of that six thousand yrs. Six days? And Christ will return after those 6000 yrs and set up his 1000 yr period of rest. He will set up the kingdom of God which he talked about all through the new testament.

    I'm familiar with the scriptures.

    Just for clarification, how does this 1,000 year span of rest, commence?

    Where exactly is Jesus going to be during this 1,000 years?

    Thank you kindly.

    Zion. His Holy Mountain. Jerusalem

    1 THESSALONIANS 4 [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: AND SO SHALL WE EVER BE WITH THE LORD.

    And we will be with Him forever

    JEREMIAH 3 [11] And the LORD said unto me, THE BACKSLIDING ISRAEL hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.[12] Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.[13] Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.[14] TURN, O BACKSLIDING CHILDREN, SAITH THE LORD; FOR I AM MARRIED UNTO YOU: AND I WILL TAKE YOU ONE OF A CITY, AND TWO OF A FAMILY, AND I WILL BRING YOU TO ZION:

    I am married to you {the bride of Christ}. Goin to Jerusalem, Zion, His Holy Mountain {in the twinkling of an eye}

    ZECHARIAH 8 [1] Again the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, [2] Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury. [3] Thus saith the LORD; I AM RETURNED UNTO ZION, AND WILL DWELL IN THE MIDST OF JERUSALEM: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts THE HOLY MOUNTAIN.

    And Jesus Himself will be there with us. And so shall we ever be with the Lord
