Where the american core values came from?
I heard that they came from George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison?

Is it right? Another opinion is they came from puritan.
Sorry I am not strong on America history. I am just a legal immigrant.
The reason I ask this question is that I hear an opinion that illegal immigrant will hurt the american core values and I do believe so.
So I am interesting this question.

Thank you.

well, it is true that immigrants bringing pagainsm and idolatry, and btw, idleness too (different aspect),
but mostly the idolatry which the Creator of All calls a sin and an abomination and a cause for being cursed by Him,
are hurting the current and probably the future of the usa.

unadmittedly, the 'core' of americanism has been babylonianism(babylonthe great) industry, capitalism, etc all fueled immensely by horrific greed and covetousness....

oppressing the poor and the homeless (look up homeless city online, bulldozed, closed, wrecked)....

and opposed to the spirit and the message and the good news of Yahushua HaMashiach..... and opposed to His ekklesia.

If you want to know where our core values came from, read the political philosophers the Framers read.

Go to your library and get John Locke's Two Treatises On Government, Samuel Rutherford's Lex, Rex, Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England, and Montesquieu's works.

Most of these, being in the public domain are available online. All are heavy on scripture as the basis for their philosophy and observations and all were cited by the Framers as influences.

You might also want to check out a New England Presbyterian pastor named John Wise, who was also a huge influence on the Framers. Many of the phrases from the Declaration of Independence come from his sermons.

You might also want to check out a New England Presbyterian pastor named Fisher Ames, who was also a huge influence on the Framers. Many of the phrases from the Declaration of Independence come from his sermons.
I mean Mr. Ames graduated in 1774, just two years before the time of the Declaration of Independence. He was still pretty younger. Did he have an huge influence? When did he become a pastor?

Read Thomas Paine's works. He was a rabble rouser and political philosopher who greatly advocated for the Revolution. He was convicted of Treason and Sedition in absentia in England for his writings.

Also read the Federalist Papers, written by Thomas Jefferson, Janes Madison, and others. They were written after the Revolution in support of the states adopting the Constitution.

Definitely not, just look around you.

And it is foolish to think American core values were set in stone over 200 hears ago. I know many of the values I hold are influenced by my parents having lived through the depression. Quite at odds with some of the ways our culture is going.

For that matter America is too big and diverse to have one set of 'Core Values'.

I want jump to a conclusion first then read papers later on. Can we say the American core values are based christian faith?

May God Blessing.

Not really. There are some mentions of God or Divine Provedence in the founding documents of the USA, but for the most part the founding ideal of the USA come from the Age of Enlightenment.
