I find it interesting that some people are complaining of being bashed personally instead of their arguments being rationally discussed, in view of the fact that this is precisely what such loaded arguments appear to be doing to the people whose sexuality is under discussion. Somebody said something about the proper way to treat others which might be relevant in that regard.
Further, the entire thread has rested on petitio principii (AKA "begging the question") -- the assumption that "homosexuality" equates to what his being condemned by those passages of scripture we all are familiar with by now, and that it is a chosen lifestyle. The process is: 1) God does not create sin. 2) God's Word, the Bible, calls homosexuality sinful. 3) People choose to be homosexual. 4) Therefore, God does not create homosexuals because they weren't homosexuals until they decided to sin. Q.E.D.
The problem with this is that (a) One assumption is contrary to fact, and (b) At least two other assumptions are based on taking debatable theology and declaring it the only Christian vie, apparently by fiat. And (c) Homosexuality and homosexual are left undefined but by implication mean specifically sexual behavior.
It's easy to prove that God does not save Baptists this way. All you have to do is tacitly assume, but never spell out, that "Baptists" means followers of John the Baptist who never accepted Jesus, that it takes formally accepting Jesus as Lord to allow God to save anyone, and that anybody who disagrees with your implicit assumptions must therefore be intending to disrupt and mislead, when all you're trying to do is save souls. If you can bring someone in to have a fit of righteous indignation at how terribly you have been treated, so much the better.
Think about it. Pray about it. Don't automatically assume you're right.
