Where is the list of sins?

As tturt has demonstrated, the Bible contains various descriptions and lists of sins. They are necessary, as Paul wrote,

Romans 7:7
7 What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, "YOU SHALL NOT COVET."

However, you are a "new creature in Christ: old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17) In Christ, you have been redeemed, justified and sanctified (1 Corinthians 1:30), made a joint-heir with him (Romans 8:17), united with him in his death and burial and raised into "newness of life" in him (Romans 6:1-11). You are "dead to sin," as a born-again believer, and your life is hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). These are the truths, these are the facts about yourself as a child of God, that ought to occupy your attention, not lists of sin (necessary though they are). When you're looking for the boundaries between righteousness and sin, you're not looking at Christ. But it's only in keeping your heart fixed on him that you will be changed into his image. (2 Corinthians 3:18; Hebrews 12:2-3; Romans 8:29)

Yes thankfully those statements about who believers are is the truth.

Yet by knowing those lists we can know God's view of the world's mindset and behavior as in Rom 1:21-31. They promote those things everyday and say they are ok - just like v 32. But we need to know what God says - His standards for us.

God can help us with our problem areas so we can be healed and be overcomers. Pro 1:7, 2:6; Jam 1:5, Phillipines-4:6-7: Isa 41:10; I Pet 5:7; Psa 103:3, 147:3,

Plus we can pray as Jesus instructed in Matt 6:9-13. Knowing when we fall, we can "... confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9 Then "He has taken our sins away from us as far as the east is from west." Psa 103:12

Keep our focus on God and who He is and understanding who we are because of Him - always great advice.

God says that even "...the thought of foolishness is sin". Anythng said or actions, or intent of the heart contary to God is sin. A real "born again" saint as John 3:16 together with John 14:6, needs to ALWAYS honor God in ALL that they say or do or think; and if we fail and act in the flesh carelessly, we need to repent and confess our failure to God and anyone we have offended.
If one who is truly saved and a "child of God" by the new birth, that one should seek always to please our Creator-God in Jesus Christ. The "...flesh profits nothing", God says. Let us be humble and trust, love, and honor God!
