It is not "MY" position...it is God and the Bible! The only irony is you, a admitted Pagan, insinuating you know something about God and the Bible!
And just out of curiosity, how much do you know about me?

I know very little...only by the written word in this format.....you labeled yourself a Pagan...not me! Am I not to take that a face value of what a Pagan is?

So you're assuming that Pagan is all I ever was?
Also, Pagan is a very broad term. Which type
are you assuming I am?
No, I am assuming you are Pagan now! Otherwise why would you put that as your faith? In the narrowest of terms, I am assuming you are not Christian?

I've been a Christian most of my life.
Where do you think I got what I've said previously on this subject?
Therefore, it's troubling that you attribute it to "pagan nonsense"
when that's not where I originally got my ideas.

I advise learning about someone rather than simply jumping
to conclusions about people based on the highly inadequate
faith-label system here, which has done more to cultivate
misunderstanding based on generalizations than anything else.
Just like the term "Christian", "Pagan" is a very wide umbrella-
term, so one should narrow down who they're dealing with
specifically, before jumping to conclusions.

To get a better understanding of why I use the label here,
you can read this.

yes to abide in God is to abide in his love
Abide among other things would be to:
  • to accept or bear
  • to stay or live somewhere
  • to remain or continue
Certainly love is a byproduct of abiding in Christ. Accepting, believing and possessing a repentant heart would be some others!
He is in you and you in he...that is abiding!

Sorry, could have fooled me.....so are you Pagan or Christian then?...it would be an Oxymoron to be both !
Did you read my previous post in its entirety?
Apparently not, since you're asking this.
You also likely haven't heard of Christo-Paganism,
but that's another topic.

byproduct? I would say it is the chief purpose of all things.

1 John 4:7-8 (YLT)
Beloved, may we love one another, because the love is of God, and every one who is loving, of God he hath been begotten, and doth know God; he who is not loving did not know God, because God is love.

I am not interested in a syncretistic faith like yours. I will stick with the Holy Bible and my faith given by God and Jesus as my personal Savior!

It seems to me from casual observation on CF that one things Christians really take joy in is recounting who is suffering in hell.

I don't understand this obsession. Is it a revenge fantasy? Or is it the idea that "hey I'm better than that guy! See I get to the go to heaven!" (something I've seen expressed quite a bit on here).

At any rate, it is vexing.

yeah humans have a big problem with putting others down. they seem to need to feel superior to some other group of humans. I hope to completely escape from that mess asap. it must be biological. eventually people will stop being foolish and realize that we are all human beings. you are either for God or against him and there are parts in most who are against and parts that are for.

lol honestly it might not be possible to stop putting others down completely. it is just part of being a mortal. but being a divine-mortal, which we all should be if we are united to God aka theosis, is the very revelation that jesus came with to set all free from their condition. because the son of God is the son of man. but most Christians whine and go all crazy when I say that, because they are insane and think it is good to remain in the sinful conditions that they are in. so they put themselves down and I help them by pointing it out.

perfect love cast out fear. God is love.

Market share. "If you don't buy what we're selling, you're DOOOOOMED."

It's a shame that evangelism has played on fears. I believe in Jesus just because he's Jesus. But it's not like I can rewrite history and tradition.

I think it is many times related to; them needing to convince themselves, their particular faith belief, has real benefits.

What is better than convincing yourself, anyone who disagrees with their faith belief, is doomed?
