Addaperle - or you could try a church like the one in the NT where all members are baptised as believers and all have received the Spirit, speaking in tongues (see Acts 2v4, 33, 39; 10v44-48, 11v14-18). And where meetings give all the opportunity of receiving and giving , "the gifts":-
choruses/spiritual songs
tesimony by someone of what God has done for them
talk from the bible
hymn & communion (sunday meetings only)
2 or 3 gifts of tongues, each with interpretation
2 or 3 prophecies
prayer line (gifts of healing and faith)
closing song/notices
tea

. . . ."all things done decently and in order", "the spirit of the
prophets are subject to the prophets", God does not "take people over" - as detailed in 1 Corinthians 14
I'm very happy where I am thank you. I am well aware of the spiritual gifts, and as a charismatic Catholic, go to meetings where they are used for our edification and teaching. (I received the gift of tongues around 2 years ago, and have experienced the gift of prophecy and a word of knowledge on occassions, though I am still getting used to having the confidence to use those gifts. The Holy Spirit is a patient teacher). However, I prefer my 'service' to one devoted to the worship of God(not that yours isn't, though tea seems an odd thing to advertise as a selling point for a church!), where I can receive Jesus physically. Apart from the use of the gifts at Mass and communion only on Sundays, the only difference I noticed is the issue of baptism. I prefer to stick with a church where, when I have children, the church will be happy to receive them as Christians too, just like the Bible did. The apostles did not just baptise believers, but their households too.... but this is not the place for debate or discussion.

Peace be with you,
Clare xx

Wow, my church is located in CSP. I notice you are Catholic - you will probably be looking to attend St. Joseph's...I have been to a few services there over the years. I hope you enjoy your time here! Unfortunately I am hoping to move out of the area in July/August but if still around I will make sure to send you a welcome at the time!
August 8th, I move in. I'm joining the Sion Community. I went to St Joseph's when I went for my interview, it seems like a great parish!

Hi! I was born and raised in South Korea. My mother is Korean. My dad is from Texas. I'm stumped when people ask me where I'm from. It takes a bit of explaining when I say "Korea" because I look hispanic. lol. Lots of confusion. The best times I had were when I was walking around in Korea and people would try to speak to me in English, and then I'd reply in Korean and blow them away.

I come from Southampton as well!
But right now I'm residing in West London since I'm a student here. :help:
But, anyhow, I was born in south India and didn't actually start living in England until about age 11.

Is the tea served decently and in order? Is it obligatory?

Well, the families originally from Scotland, but I'm afraid we've been tainted with English blood! ;)
Actually... we're originally from Ireland, but we got kicked out for stealing sheep and cattle waaaaay back in the 15th Century! :D
Anyway, right now I'm living in the middle of Wiltshire.

Excellent! Well, I may be going to Aberystwyth next year for Uni. Depends on whether or not I get into my first choice... Still, I wouldn't mind going. Despite being isolated, it's a nice place!
I take it you're quite into Mountaineering then, Sword?
