Where Has GA Gone?

I live in the Atlanta suburbs... Marietta, specifically.

I've been living here for about 11 years now, but grew up in Greenville, South Carolina.

Anyone else around here live close to Marietta/Kennesaw?

tasherrill22, since you live in Covington -- have you tried Shane's Rib Shack on Brown Bridge Road? Shane has to best BBQ in the known universe! I don't mean to sound like a commercial, but Shane's is owned by a Christian, and the food is great! Say hello to Shane if you get in there...

Wow, I can't believe I haven't seen this thread. I've been in GA for a good 17 years. About to leave, tho, for college. I'm about 45 minutes south of Atlanta in the golf cart capitol of the world. Heard of most of the places y'all have mentioned. Good stuff.

I am in Roswell. I have only been here for about 10 months. I grew up in Tifton which is in south GA for 21 years of my life until I moved here to go to GSU. I work in Alpharetta. My ex went to school in Macon. I have ties to all kinds of places. Speaking of my ex I am bummed about that because we dated for 3 years and all of a sudden it is over. If any of you guys have some encouraging words or have any groups that meet that you wouldn't mind me being a part of I would love to go. For everybody in the Atlanta area, you should check out 7:22 on Tuesday at North Point Community Church if you guys have never been. I went lastnight as it is only a mile from my work and it was the most awesome and powerful thing I have ever been to. They only meet once a month during the summer, but if you want any info you can PM me.

I live just south of the Old Lost Mountain Store. I spent a lot of time in Mableton growing up -- we used to go to the $1.00 movies on Bankhead Hwy every Thursday night when I was in high school at McEachern.

But we are not natives...we are what y'all call Dang Yankees. We moved here from the Midwest about 5 years ago and we are NOT going back. We love Georgia!
