Where will you most likely be? Is there a fine line between your aspirations and reality?

Do you consider yourself to have an internal or external locus of control?

Since this is a singles forum ... do you see yourself married in 5 years?

Bibically speaking ... only God knows the exact plans for your life but I think back to what I wanted 5 years ago and the reality I am in now and there are hits and misses

P.S this is a realism thread so take off your rose colored glasses

and if you're one to say you just "go with the flow" explain

Five years? I hope no one dies in that time. Married? Maybe. (rolls dice) Probably off somewhere reading a book that either I bought years ago and never read--or something fresh and new. I'm to the point that I look at publication dates right after the title.

What is the difference between internal and external locus of control? I know one of them is supposed to be more healthy.

In six months I'll finally have my college degree so I expect in five years I'll have had a career going for that amount of time. Possibly remarried. Depending on when I got remarried, I may have 1-2 kids or at least one on the way.

I'll either be living right here in my home town (ideally), or quite possibly on the other side of the country.

Whether or not I've remarried could be influenced a lot by whether I get my first choice for a job, because that would involve a lot of international travel.

yeah let's hope we all have great health

What is the difference between internal and external locus of control? I know one of them is supposed to be more healthy.

Christians usually have an external locus of control. "The belief that events in one’s life, whether good or bad, are caused by uncontrollable factors such as the environment, other people, or a higher power."

Whereas an Internal Locus of Control is "The extent to which people believe they have power over events in their lives. A person with an internal locus of control believes that he or she can influence events and their outcomes"

Kinda like fate vs. luck/preparation/planning etc.

What degree would that be (if you don't mind sharing)

I love jobs that require travelling ... it's like an adventure but also work

Hopefully living on my own so I can live life according to God's terms.

This is what I am hoping for too! I can't wait to live alone also. Less bickering and more control over my own thoughts and feelings

Yes also I will be able to control what I do, what I eat and what influences are in my life.

Two rungs up the corporate ladder at work. My house closer to where I want it with the interior done and a shop built. Marriage would be nice as well as back in shape.

Would like to be much more spiritually mature with a large group of Christian friends to hang out with.

Honestly...I have no idea. Just in the past 2 yrs, my life has changed dramatically...some of it is what I hoped for.

If anything, I hope to be married to someone who loves me for me and settled down in a nice home...and whether it's where I am now or perhaps I have to move, only God knows.
