To me ... "news" is something that is actually happening by something/someone and reported by someone who is actually there .... there is tons of opinion and commentary within the various "news agencies" ... getting "news" from one source is just allowing yourself to be spoon fed ,,, yes one should search out many "news sources" ... can be a daunting task.
Yes, a wide variety of sources. Never accept the story on its face from the first source. You have to find multiple sources, and then sometimes link back through those sources to find out what really happened. And check the independent journalists.
Yup. Sources that use actual journalists (as opposed to ‘entertainers’ that have no journalistic obligations) are always required. And as one of my daughter’s English teacherstaught: if it is something that you really want to be true, then you need to find even more independent sources. Because that is when we are most vulnerable to misinformation.
