Agreed! But since we are apart of the same church, we should be on the same page. At least, thats what my brain tells me.

You will never find total agreement, even in your local church. But that doesn't stop you from going there does it?

What has been going on in here isn't anything close to what you are talking about as far as not "always" agreeing.

I don't expect people, not even my fellow SDA's to ALWAYS agree with me, but when it comes to the 28 fundamental beliefs, I don't expect them to ALWAYS disagree with me either.

It gets very old after awhile, and it's not difficult to come to the realization that you are being argued with for the sake of arguing.

Enough said.

I rarely stop in here anymore because it got ridiculous. If it's going to continue, my stops will be even more infrequent.

I like it when people disagree with me because it forces me to take a closer look at what I believe, thus causing it so that my sword becomes all the more sharper than it already is!

Agreee.

Most here at least claim to belong to the SDA Church. There are 27/28 fundamenmtal beliefs. The Investigative Judgement/Sanctuary is one of them. I believe if one cannot accept that then that person should not claim to be an SDA.

It seems that some here just argue for the sake of making an arguement and enjoy doing it that way.

I do not come here as much as I used to and will come less if it continues.

Error should not be studied just for the sake of an arguement.

I LOVE an intelligent discussion. There's a difference between "discussion" and "debate". Discussions are giving and taking of information. With a debate, it's more about being right... If you are here to bring FRESH information, NEW ideas, even if they may be contrary to SDA teachings, I'm more than willing to take a peek-a-loo. But that wasn't what was going on, in my humble opinion.

Hi Tim--I understood that 3abn was NOT going to carry The Appearing". I think only ACN is. I might be wrong, but our church is not getting it thru 3abn and I can't find it listed on the 3abn web site.

AMEN Sassy---I'm sooo very tired of all these anti-Adventists. Thats why I hardly come here anymore. If it wasn't for Tim2 and Cliff, I wouldn't come back at all. It's too depressing. I think CF should rename this site-"Anti-7th Day Adventist forum". It would better describe it.

Brother Cliff, I think you're right on the money. I sometimes have to wonder if some of the people posting in here made different baptismal vows than I did. If they made the same ones then I really can't understand all the opposition they're showing to promises they agreed to make on their own. Certainly nobody here twisted their arms.

I may be crazy but it's almost like some people here are angry with us because we believe in the Adventist doctrine. It wouldn't be so crazy if they weren't claiming to be Adventist as well, ya know?

You hit it RIGHT on the head. I have wondered that very thing over and over again.

If I were to ever get to the point of not "agreeing" with the beliefs of the church, of not wanting to be faithful to my vows, I WOULD LEAVE, and I'd do it quietly. If I change my mind that doesn't make the Adventist church or doctrine bad...it simply means what I said, "I changed my mind". If something happened within the church to CAUSE me to change my mind, I would discuss it with the pastor and possibly he and the church board together - QUIETLY. If it couldn't be resolved to my satisfaction, I would be an ADULT and leave.

I would NOT come here or to any site that has Adventist forums to cause arguments with those who are still Adventists. I see no point in that, and the main reason I see no point is because, guess what? IT DOESN'T WORK. People who try to do that only end up making the very people they are trying to "save" from the "horrible" church, leery of them to downright angry.

As my granny always taught me...you catch more flys with honey than vinegar...but they haven't seemed to learn that.

This is just my 2 cents, I can only say what I would do and how I would act, and that's what I've done.

There is a new group of people that call themselves Progressive SDA (I believe that's the name) that are basically trying to strip any teachings of EGW completely out of the church. Right down to the fact that they want to start attending church on Sunday and work on Saturdays. The seventh day Sabbath is not an EGW teaching, it's a Biblical teaching.

In any case, I personally feel that if you have decided not to stay committed to the vows you made at baptism, you need to go to a different church--otherwise you're a hypocrite. That is how I feel about any church, not just the Adventist church. When I decided to leave the Baptist church because of doctrine, I left. I didn't sit around griping about what I thought was wrong making everybody around me miserable.

But that's just me...............

I haven't either. I could NEVER go back to a Sunday keeping church now. Why, I would feel worse than the cat on the hot tin roof. I'd be waiting for lightening to strike the building....just kidding.

But seriously, I would be utterly miserable. I don't visit the Baptist forum on here and start in on them. First of all, that's not the way one should go about witnessing, now is it?

I am very disturbed by something. The last time I came here I was told that I was an Apostate because I told a certain few to be more compassionate to Stormy.

But now, after reading several posts in this thread I get the impresssion that I am once again being looked upon as being anti-adventist.

Now, if you people feel this way about me I want you to say it right now.

I don't like all of this masked language. Just be honest and tell me what you think of me.

Woobadooba, no offense, but who said anybody was talking about you?

My grief is with anyone that takes on the Adventist name, took the baptismal vows themselves (without a gun being held to their heads), and then gripes about every little doctrine they personally agreed to follow. I would hope that description doesn't apply to you.

The subforum went through this a couple of weeks ago and it just seems as if there is potential to go through this again. Either one wants to continue in dialogue, or one doesn't. If one does, fine. If not, why rehash all that stuff from before? I thought things were dealt with and people were cool and am I surprised that the same sentiments are being expressed.
I guess I shall never know ...

Ok...first of all I don't know you well enough to think ANYTHING of you one way or the other.

You weren't here when what we are mostly referring to was taking place.

I have pulled Trust's comment into mine, because she said it so eloquently.

What we were experiencing was arguments from some who claimed (maybe they are, I can't see through a screen) to be Adventist over things they willingly had taken baptismal vows over, and the 28 fundamental beliefs of the church. I'm sorry, but those are two things that you either agree with or you don't, and if you don't, you shouldn't stay in the church, because that would make one a hypocrite. Actually, if one doesn't, they shouldn't have joined to begin with...right?

I have tried to be as explicit as I can be. I'm ALWAYS willing to listen, and I'm ALWAYS willing to take a peek-a-loo at new and fresh ideas. What I'm not willing to do is argue over the love of my church anymore. It depressed me to do so, it took the light of Jesus out of my life for a few days, and I even had harsh words with someone I love more than my own sister over it. So, I'm just not willing to do it anymore.

I will discuss, but I will not argue. The 28 fundamental beliefs and the baptismal vows are not anything to debate over. They are what they are, and you either accept them or you don't.
