After you take your temp and blood pressure to find out, I wonder if we can get a thread going as to who is the oldest. Or maybe you can think of something better. Maybe how long you've been committed to Jesus...or something?

Well I'm still alive, and alive in Christ , but I think some of my brain cells have died! :D As for age I'm 70 next month, so I think I'm one of the oldest. I've been on GE for 14 years so have seen many join during that time, most of whom I think are younger than me, and some young enough to be my children! Surely not!

Welcome to you windwhistler; I hope you enjoy this forum. :) I love the fact that we can meet with people from around the world and think we are a friendly bunch here.

I'm nearly 80 and hope I've gone home to be with the Lord before 14 more years! I remember when my oldest daughter turned 50. Suddenly I felt really old. Actually though, no matter how old my body feels (and looks), inside I don't feel old.

I first asked the Lord to take over my life when I was 33. Thought I'd surrendered all. Then little by little he showed me what I needed to give him. At times I practically had to peel my hand open to let go. Haven't arrived yet but Oh how I've learned and am still learning how awesomely wonderful and faithful he is in the process.
Thanks for your reply!

Oh, you may be one of the eldest here then, but I think our generation is younger longer than those who were elderly when we were children. I don't usually feel old, but I suddenly did the other day, but have forgotten why! That's something which does happen - I forget things and also do odd things like washing my hair with shower cream and diluting my mouthwash! Why? On the whole I find my senior moments quite amusing. :D

I loved Jesus as a child and was saved when I was 20. Then I had a severe bereavement and suffered depression, which was not really understood in those days. As a result I went away from the Lord until my early thirties, mistakenly thinking that the depression was from Him. Since then He has been so gentle and kind in leading me to a more Biblical understanding of Him and guiding me through various experiences. As for going home I love this song performed by Mark Lowry and others:

I'm in my early 70s. I may be getting old in years but but I'm still definitely alive!

Even though I made a decision for Christ many years ago at a youth rally, life happened with all of its ups and downs. I'm still here though, keeping on - in the process of learning and growing on my faith walk as I stay focused on Him and someday being in my forever home.

Hello windwhistler, lovely to see you here.

I was just about to type Im 64 when I realised I am actually 61, :doh:well until December!(so am I really "all there?"o_O)
Age means little to me and I actually wouldn't want to be young again.

I live in Victoria, Australia, on my own. (with my 2 dogs and my cat) My life is quite isolated and more so with Covid19.

I went to Sunday school and Church as a child but wasnt a Christian until 1987.
It has been a constant journey of ups and probably more downs. But through it all God has consistently been with me even in the deep valleys.
I owe Him everything.

I enjoy this part of the forum the best I think because it just somehow feels a kind, gentle place to be as things can sometimes get quite heated in other parts of the forum.

Hi to everyone here and may we all be blessed to fellowship together even though geographically we are spread far and wide.

Rebornfree that was a beautiful song and sums up exactly how I feel.

Thank you for sharing it:heart:
Thank you Heavenhome. Your username sums it up, doesn't it? :)

When Mark sang about death knocking on the door and finding that he's not homesick anymore, it took away some anxiety I had about dying when the time comes. It should just be like that. Sometimes I feel I've not done enough for God, but then I remember I'm saved by faith in Jesus's death for my sins, not because of anything I've done.

The song came from the Gaither Vocal Band 2009 Reunion and it blew me away when I first heard it. We have so much to look forward to as Christians. :) Praise God! This is from the same occasion:
