Why do you think he has so much energy to attack football players and mayors of storm-ravaged islands, but can’t organise his people to enact legislation that he signed? Why do you think that Twitter tirades have a higher priority than fulfilling legislative responsibilities?

He's a maniac. A loose canon.

Forgive me...

He does have the right.

Look, the last two years of the last administration had me thinking treason at some points. However, when you get down to the nuts and bolts of the Presidency he had the authority to make a deal with Iran.

I'm a cold war vet. De-escalation is tactical in nature.

Forgive me...

Again, you avoid the point, so no forgiveness here...

My questions were not about deal-making. They are about a president failing in his responsibilities in carrying out the legislation that he signed into law.

You’re missing the point...

The sanctions were approved, overwhelmingly by Congress. Trump did not exercise any veto, he signed them into law. One of the provisions was that they were to be enacted by October 1, nearly two weeks ago.

But his administration has failed to do so. Why?

Could take him to court over dereliction of duty... but only after he's out of office.

Forgive me...

I think ‘ridicule’ would be more appropriate than ‘fear’...

No, it's fear, of what he might do! His unpredictability.

When he said nuclear arms are on the table for use against our enemies the entire world clock clicked on second closer to doomsday.

President Obama was rational, calm, slow to anger, slow to move. These are good things when domestic issues are at hand. But nobody feared nuclear weapons from him.

Forgive me...

Really? I would have thought you did.

He's Christian.

Forgive me...

I'm Jewish. We tend to not be for killing people. Seems like one of those commandment things that you may have heard of. (though Israel makes a number of mistakes in my opinion)

I just view it. I think President Trump is trying to play a stalemate.

A new "cold war" so to speak.

Forgive me...

Exactly my point of asking if you think his religion colors his politics.
He's a Christian, and that gives some mutual standing ground between Russia and the US.
It's a tactical fallback on each others strengths. Stalemate stops the clock. Which starting ticking again during the last years of the last administration. Now if they can just get a weapon within striking distance the third world will push the US.

Meanwhile Russia could shoot at us at any time. Has been able to since the 1970's.

We are old enemies and we have fought together, even from different sides, and still managed to maintain a certain stability.

Forgive me...

Can I come out from under my desk yet?
I think my first drill was in the fourth grade.

If it's to his tactical advantage a President can most certainly, legally, "for national security" if he needs that excuse, put something at the bottom of the stack.

Forgive me...

I wonder how many laws are on the books that never get enforced?

"Laws with no teeth" so to speak.

Whoever is the sitting President, he is the chief enforcer of the law.

Forgive me...

Perhaps one of my US friends could explain...

I understand that Trump signed into law a round of sanctions against Russia for their meddling in last year’s elections. Those sanctions were supposed to be enacted by October 1. Despite the fact that he and his best friend, Tillerson, were not in favour, is he not bound to enact those sanctions? Can anyone force him to act?

I believe Trump bought his caviar from Norway instead of Russia this month. That'll teach 'em!

It's amazing to me that people are just so dismissive of this. Oh, Russia might have been behind the hacks of voting records and then targeted ads through social media to influence people? Yawn-o-rama.

Reminds me of how people just don't care that the Equifax breach was potentially the work of the Chinese government. 140 million plus people's information stolen? Who cares? Football is on!

Russia:
Hacked the election to help Trump.
Influenced the election to help Trump.
Ran ads during the election to help Trump.

Ran ads during the election to sow chaos.

Got it.
