  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When will you be content?

I'm content now. But I don't feel that I'm to sit back and let my home fall down around me, so I'll keep plugging away. A little of this a little of that. Maybe even a lot of something! :)

I'd guess most people don't get what they want from God. But I'd say God has given me an amazing heap of blessings in my life. I have a stand permission with God to give me direction any time He wants to. A few times I've had direction from God in my life. But more than 90% of my life I've looked back and said that went so well, that God had to have been guiding me and I wasn't conscious of it. As in God said, "Mark, today put all your money into stocks."

When will you be content?

Are you content now?

What IF you never get what you want from God?

When will you seek HIS plan for your life? Or do you do that now?

I am content, believe it or not, in MOST areas of my life. One reasons I love sports so much is that sports are one area of my life where I do not feel CHEATED. I have had many very fond memories, and a few sad,and disappointing memories in sports.

In my financial life,I am contented by the fact that I have CHIOCES,where I want to live, where I want to travel, what games I want to see.

In my romantic life,I feel like such a failure. And for me,"failure is NOT an option."

When will I be content with my life? ... the moment that I die.

Until then, I am trying very hard to be...God has blessed my life too much to be anything but. However, trying to be content with a big hole in my heart is easier said than done. I'm not even sure what it is that I really want...(other than my husband and my old life back). It is my goal to become content. That will have to be good enough for now.

When will you be content?

When I will no longer be made of flesh. When I will be face to face with my Savior in heaven!

Are you content now?

I try to be, with God's help. If something needs to be fixed in my life because it is not according to God's will, then I ask Him to help me get it right.

What IF you never get what you want from God?

Then I need to walk by faith and believe that God knows what He is doing and what is best for me to have and not have. I seek His strength to be grateful and content with what I have.

When will you seek HIS plan for your life? Or do you do that now?

I daily seek His plan for me. I know that if I walk in the path He has created for me, I will be blessed, will bless others and glorify Him.

I can't do it without Him.

My heart goes out to Junior Seau's family. When I was a boy,I wanted to grow up to be a professional athlete,as so many other boys did.We thought, that by being a pro athlete,we would have a lot of women, cars, money, fame, big houses with swimming pools, and more women. This is a lesson for me to thank GOD,and to be CONTENT with what I have. Why would someone, who has a lot going for himself, take his own life? That is very sad. Junior Seau had SO much going for him.Everybody else knew that,EXCEPT for..... Junior Seau.

His fellow players here in Boston are really having a hard time putting together what they saw when playing with him for 4 yrs and what they are hearing about his suicide. It may speak to hard it was for him to transition life without football. The other thing I've heard raise is could this be a problem with the after effects of concussions! What ever the reason, its ever sad as you said exit.

Alot of people when they get fame and recognition can't handle it because they don't feel worthy of the attention they get because they "know" themselves. We can count many "greats" that have died by taking their lives when it "appeared" they have everything going for them. That is just another reason that we should be greatful for WAHTEVER we have and even what we DON'T have.

I found out about those concussions. The NFL is being brought into court for law suits over these concussions.

Back on topic, being content is a state of mind, not a physical circumstance IMO.

Being content is a state of mind. That is correct. However, concussions affect the brain, which,of course, houses the....... mind.

exit ... this is probably a good example of what Michelle is talking about in how you word things. That is correct puts you in the place of a teacher. Which at work you probably do all the time. Here saying I agree, would have communicated the same thing and put you on equal footing with other posters.

Most concussions are a temporary medical situation. Contentment is usually a more permanent and more of a "heart" condition.

What is contentment?

I long for "something more" in my life however, I am satisfied with what I have right now even if nothing changed. I suspect that the longing is the Holy Spirit whispering to not give up looking for what God has for my future. If it were me being unable to appreciate what I do have because I am just wanting something else or something more, then I think it becomes discontentment. If my life stayed like it is today, I wouldn't be unhappy...(just tired).

And just curious.....how does the above statement fit into the OP?

Because a concussion is not a foot injury,or an arm injury, and so on. A concussion is a head injury, which can and will affect the brain, which can affect one's thinikng.

Well...this is not the first time someone has told me that. The last three letters of my first name is "ter". Sometimes, when I was in high school,I was call "ter",the professor. Because I used to help my friends with their homework.
One girfriend said that I should have become a teacher. I told her,"With the way these kids are today,so wild, so undisciplined, and hitting teachers,I will not teach unless I had a whip and a chair!" (a lion tamer) :)

Besides,we are never too old to learn.

Education is a process of continous learning.
