The kings of the gentiles (nations) exercise lordship over the nations. They that exercise authority (control) over them are called “benefactors”….Greek transliterated word: “euergetēs” which means “workers of good”.
They call themselves “do gooders”. Think about that especially in light of what they are saying and doing today.
Man wants to control in his man-based government through the guise of them doing “good”. Nothing has changed today in that pursuit of power over others.
Luk 22:25
(25) And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors (WORKERS OF GOOD).
But LORD our God (our Judge) has brought us …His people…out of the land of “Egypt”…that is, the world governments.
Jesus has appointed unto us a “kingdom”….a government…that has been appointed by the Father in Heaven.
Luk 22:29-30 KJV
(29) And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
(30) That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
He delivers us from Egypt through the “Red Sea”…that is, the Reed Sea. The ancient Egyptians wrote with “reed” pens on papyrus. He delivers us through the “sea” of the world’s written (reed pens) governmental documents (papyrus) that are being used as “principalities and powers” in exercising authority over people.
Egypt symbolizes the outside world and their ruling in man-based governmental documents (such as constitutions) that they govern and judge themselves with.
They do these things because they do not know God. God does not govern them nor judge them…..as they suppose.
They of the world think that they truly govern and judge themselves when God always rules in the kingdoms of men. He only allows them to do such things until the appointed time.
The nations of the outside world keep and serve their handwritings of ordinances (their worldly documents) that they made for themselves to be in bondage to.
Exo 20:1-3 KJV
(1) And God spake all these words, saying,
(2) I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
They (handwritings of ordinances) are “other gods” as they use their man-based handwritten statutes/ordinances to judge with. “Elohim” = judges.
We…His people…though have only One Lawgiver and One Judge. We are in His government as He is King and we do His commandments which are written upon our hearts..
(3) Thou shalt have no other gods (elohim) before me.
When we (gentiles) were children (not knowing anything about God), we were in bondage under the “elements” (the founding principles) of the world (Egypt) who does not know God also.
We were under their rule….under the government of man and his laws…their empty written statutes and ordinances contained in government documents such as a “constitution”.
Gal 4:3 KJV
(3) Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
We did “service”….that is, to be a slave…to them…to the statutes and ordinances of the world (the “other gods” of Egypt). “other gods” = other judges = handwritings of ordinances.
Gal 4:8-10 KJV
(8) Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
But now God has delivered us from the governments of this world (Egypt). He has appointed us a government...His government... right now in this earth that we are to be a part of.
This government is the same one that is in Heaven...which is the only government there. (When you pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be you name (authority). Thy kingdom (government) come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
We are now known by God. We know God now and His commandments (which He wrote upon our hearts). His “constitution” so-to-speak is written in our hearts. We are in His government now and not man’s.
But the “Galatians”…..which means “milk” and signifies those baby Christians... who are “dull of hearing” and “unskilled in the word of righteousness” (Hebrews 5:11-13) …quickly return to the keeping of weak (strengthless) and beggarly “elements”…the church handwritings of ordinances that a church scribe has written while puffed up in his own fleshly mind.
They escape the world’s dominion over them only just to return to man’s government in their churches where they willfully and solemnly bow down to man’s handwritings.
(9) But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
(10) Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
Look up any church “constitution”…a handwriting of ordinances/dogmas…and you will see in a lot of them in the “preamble” section where they include language of submission to their document such as: “we voluntarily submit ourselves”….. “ we voluntarily and solemnly submit ourselves”….etc. ...to the following articles/amendments that their church is built upon. These documents are man-based...just like the world's governing documents.
This is why Paul questioned: why are you “subject to ordinances/dogmas”….after being “dead” in Christ from the “rudiments”….the founding principles (handwritings of ordinances)…of the world (Egypt)?
Col 2:20-22 KJV
(20) Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
(21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
(22) Which all are to perish with the using) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Do we desire to be in bondage again to man's authority after God has set us free from the world’s governmental powers over us?
Now do we want to go to a man-based “church” where they are in bondage to their handwritings of ordinances? Do we want to resubmit to man’s government instead of God’s. But thanks be to God as He forgives us through Christ for these things.

(14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
(15) And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
To the “Galatians”: Ye observe days (keeping holy days/sabbath days), and months (new moons), and times, and years. These could be any “ordinance” written in the church handwritings to keep and serve.
They have let a man bring them into the bondage of keeping his church ordinances….letting a man “judge” them with their church handwritings ("other gods") in these things.
(16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
(17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Seek first the kingdom (government) of God that is within….and His righteousness.
