BlackSaab, I know what you mean and I can't wait to get baptized but our church only does it on the 5th Sunday of the month. So the next 5th Sunday is in July. I like my church and I am not going to another church just to get baptized. Thats just my opinion.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know your church did it that way. I'm just curious, do you know why they do it that way? And what denomination is this?

Hey Blacksaab, I understand your point of view, but I just want to let you know why I've waited six months. I didn't want my baptism to be "in the moment", or based on feelings. This walk so far for me has been like a valley, there have been highs and lows. I wanted to wait and stick through it, because I didn't want to make that profession of faith without knowing that I am not basing all of this on my feelings. I am confident now in my faith and my relationship with Christ and I want to take that next step.

(And also, my church baptizes whenever you ask the pastor. You can set a date or whatever.)

Hello Everyone!

I just recently accepted Jesus as my Savior, and I was wondering when would be the best time for me to get Baptized. I want to be Babptized soon, but then on the other hand I want to wait a little bit longer. I am confused. Can someone please help!

Thank you,
Mirela

Sure, get hold of a copy of The Normal Christian Birth by David Pawson available online from either www.anchor-recordings.com (UK) or www.Goodseed.org (USA) or your local Christian bookstore or public lending library.

Every blessing in Christ (Eph.1:3)

p.s. welcome to the family, sis!

Why wait to be baptized? Why not do it as soon as possible? In the book of Acts people were baptized as soon as possible. Even Simon the Sorcerer, in Acts 8, who obviously wasn't concerned with the things of God was baptized as soon as he was said to have believed.

And after Philip had told the Ethiopian about Christ, the Ethiopian was baptized very soon, in Acts 8 also.

I'm not trying to be a prude or anything, but I just don't understand why people wait so long after converting to be baptized. It just doesn't seem very scriptural to me.

It doesn't matter too much as to when it is done, the important point is that it is done. See David Pawson's excellent work The Normal Christian Birth available online from either www.anchor-recordings.com (UK) or www.Goodseed.org (USA) or your local Christian bookstore or public lending library.
