  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When it comes to midterms, the war on big oil is Biden’s biggest mistake so far

President Biden will probably face a reckoning after the Nov. 8 midterm elections, when Democrats seem likely to lose control of one, or both, houses of Congress. If that takes place, Democrats will want to know why did it happen? Whose fault was it? And how do we make sure it doesn’t happen again?

If there’s one single reason Biden’s approval rating is a low 43%—which foretells a midterm setback—it’s inflation. Especially the cost of gasoline at the pump.

They know why it happened and who caused it to happen which is why they avoid Biden and one who was previously a presidential candidate does not even want the public to associate his party with him. The more Biden talks the more people move away from him and his party.

From an outsider's view point, Biden was never a good candidate. Well he is not better than Trump in my opinion. Not to say Trump is the best thing since slice bread. Trump is not. However he was more proactive (or aggressive) in his foreign policies (good and bad applies). When he says something, the something happens. It gives others an assurance of his words. Not saying it is always a good assurance. Other world leaders may dislike him, but will begrudgingly take his positions into consideration.

Biden is an absolute push over. Sorry if anyone who voted for him thinks otherwise. As a neutral outsider or more accurately as a person who is unflattered by both Trump and Biden, Trump is ahead in his foreign policies. Results speak for themselves.

The reason other nations are now taking a swipe at American economy is because they no longer fear repercussions from it. Saudi is turning against Biden and cozying up to Putin. Why? Because they have always hated America that's why. But all these while is aligned to the US because past presidents have been managing the relationship well (carrot and stick). Biden fumbles and fumbles hard.

Don't take the wrong lesson from this in finding a way to not let it happen again. Let it happen. Let the bad administration go. Don't cling on to the bad because of ideological sentimentality.

As Joe Rogan stated... "They're making Republicans".

I suspect that the Dems are wondering what to do with old Joe.. But, they have Kamala... A real pickle.
But, chances are the Republicans will do their dirty work for them and invoke the 25th.

I fear for the US.. and for Canada. Politically they are both in a bad situation. Joe, Kamala in the US and Trudeau in Canada.

The only thing we can do is pray that God's will be done... Not to worry as it is all the time anyway.
I just find that Christians are split on so many issues in today's current state of leadership and events..
All Christians cannot have their view met and have it be God's will. Nobody is right on all accounts either.

This is why we need to pray that it's not what we want to happen.. but release our own desires for our leaders and events of the time into the capable hands of the creator.

from your link:

in reality, his actual policies have had little effect on energy prices today. The fossil fuel subsidies Biden wanted to kill are still there, untouched by Congress. The Keystone XL pipeline might have brought more oil to the United States, but the refineries that turn oil into gasoline are chock full, with no extra capacity. So, the pipeline probably wouldn’t have brought down gas prices at all. The new leases Biden halted have no effect on current production, and 75% of oil drilling takes place on private land unaffected by Biden’s move. Meanwhile, the Biden administration has eased up on some oil and gas development rules.

The biggest factors pushing oil and gas prices up during the last 18 months involve the economics of the energy industry, rather than any government policy. Oil and gas profits were miserable during the decade prior to the Covid pandemic, largely because of overproduction. Then, demand collapsed in 2020, causing unprecedented losses. Energy firms cut capacity and began prioritizing profitability over growth. That continues, with many firms now choosing to funnel lush profits back to shareholders instead of using them to invest in new projects.

My fear is not that it will be difficult to remove Joe but my fear is what we end up with after Joe is replaced. Oh my is there anyone more unqualified?

There was a senario mentioned months ago. Well two actually. However, one is probably way out of the question now.

1/ The democrats inact the 25th and then impeach Kamala... Pelosi sits as President.

2/ The Republicans take the house and the Senate. They Impeach or inact the 25th on Biden, Impeach Kamala, Make DT speaker and he sits as President.. He, then can run in 2024 for a four year term.

Just theories... but what better options are there?

I don't just post articles I agree with. The points are good for discussion. It is true that just recently refineries ramped up production to around capacity under the law, I think I heard that stated yesterday or the day before. What the article does not mention is that the refineries themselves are subject to regulations and rules from the Biden administrations which curtail their capacity. Obviously it would have been foolish to build a pipeline if refineries could not handle the oil in the pipeline. That's not why Joe shut down the Keystone XL. As I've said before, the oil business is boom and bust, some years there are tremendous losses and companies declare bankruptcy. When Joe Biden announces an all out war on the American fossil fuel industry and imposes more regulation, restrictions and delays, a profit-making venture quickly turns into a losing venture. An American oil CEO who kept spending money on such growth projects under Biden tyranny would be fired.
