Hi all, been a member here for a month or so and just thought I'd share my story. Its one i gladly share with others, and in its own way is amazing.
So here it goes.
About 4 years ago I was going through some really tough times. Just graduated High School barely and was going to Community College n receiving less than satisfactory marks. I was a headstrong and determined atheist back then and didn't believe in God no way no how. Had a less than good relationship with my mother, holding a grudge against her for working all the time and cheating on my father and it seemed like she had no more time for me at all.
But one day I decided enough is enough and I couldn't go on living. So when my mother was asleep i got a rope and made a noose and tied it to my ceiling fan, made sure it would support my weight and everything and it tested fine. So I got up on my bed, slipped the noose around my neck and took the plunge. It was almost instantly I blacked out and it seemed all was over.... Untill I heard a voice softly saying my name, then it got louder saying it again. With that I came to and to my surprise I was on the ground rope on my lap. At first I thought the rope snapped, but on closer investigation there was no frayed edges that would be there if it did snap. The rope was fully intact and like someone had come up and untied me! Completely freaked out I went into my moms room, and she was fast asleep. And she was the only other person in the house! So I wake her up and asked her if she had called out my name or been in my room before that, and she said no. That just blew my mind.
That whole thing brought me to question myself being an atheist, the way I was living, and everything about myself. Took me up to being in the army and talking with the army chaplains to actually accept Jesus in my life and be Christian. But that night changed me for the better I like to think. When I think about that night I am so glad to be alive! Because I was just on the edge of death, but God said it wasn't my time to go and led me back to life! I love life now and try to live to please him for giving it back to me!
Thank you for reading my story. I am glad to share it with y'all
