  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Most people stop around 14 weeks (diminishing from around 10).

It is possible that you will feel this way through the whole pregnancy, if you have passed the 14 week mark.

Management may be the best option - avoiding trigger foods, keeping your blood sugar up with nutritious (or non-nutritious) snacks, and not forcing yourself to eat if you have no appetite.

This liquid to take 30 minutes before meals. I only had to take it 4 times. I'll get the name later...DH is alseep and I have to go into our room to get to the bathroom.

Believe me the script was the last option I tried every natural or home remady for morning sickness I could find. Oh the joys of drinking lots of ginger ale... :p

What did the doctor give you, Linnis?

Metoclopramide is the name of the drug I was given, in liquid form. I only have taken it 4 times since getting the script. While I wasn't totally okay with the idea of taking something the idea of not eating or drinking anything that stayed down for days at a time wasn't okay either.

I threw up everything I ate, drank, and thought about eating and drinking until 13 weeks, then I didn't throw up at all. Over the last month, though, (I am 24 weeks) I throw up maybe once or twice a week...when I eat too much! lol

Yep, you definitely have to weigh up the benefit and risk of each alternative - taking the med and doing nothing.

That drug has been around for 40 years, so there is lots of safety data on it. Has it worked for you?

Yes, I took it 3 times over 2 days and had to take it once about a week ago. It's allowed me to eat and keep down liquids. I was underweight to begin with let alone loosing while pregnant so it's been a blessing.

I think I will be too happy never to see 7up, ginger anything or crackers for a long while.

With Desiree every time I got up the mornings the first thing I did before I ate was to go get sick in the bathroom. I did that for about 4 months straight and then it stopped. The same thing happened when I was pregnant with Curtis but I felt sick with him all day long. That lasted about 4 months too. With Desiree after I got sick in the morning I was fine the rest of the day.

Try taking some extra B6 vitamins. That is what my dr. told me to do and it has helped a bit. I still feel the nausea, but haven't been throwing up as much. It should taper off soon. You could also try Sea Band - I heard they work for some people. I haven't tried them yet. You can get them at your local pharmacy.
