When did you know?

After the first time you met your spouse, how long was it before you knew that you wanted them to be with you for the rest of your life? And how much longer after that were you engaged?

I think we knew by the second day... we first said it aloud two weeks into the relationship. We were sort of engaged (we had the forever committment) at that two week point. But we waited about four months after that to be formally engaged so our parents wouldn't have a heart attack. Our engagement was June 13th 2001, the summer before my Junior year in college and before the fall of his Freshman year (we graduated high school the same year but he waited a year and a half for college).

We decided to wait until after I graduated college to get married (I graduated in December after three and a half years of school) and life has been full of moving, job finding, and wedding planning ever since.

Our wedding is at 1pm in North Central Pennsylvania on September 27th.

Thats what....ohhhhhhhh 2 months and 17 days? 78 days? heehee

I knew before he did and I would say it was about 3 months into our relationship. We were engaged after 4 years of dating and married a year after that. We just celebrated our 5th anniversary!

LOL. How long? about 6 years. Engaged for...6 months.

Ok I knew that I loved Jay and wanted to be with him, before we even started dating. We had practically grown up together. We met in Junior High school and graduated together. About two years after he enlisted in the NAVY I knew that I was going to marry him, and apparently so did he. After 20 months of him being in Japan and 8 years of knowing eachother, we finally went on out first date, the next Monday we were engaged and the following weekend he went back to Japan. That was November 2001, we are getting married November this year, in about 142 days.

The first time we went out, I knew I'd marry him. We got engaged 7 months after our first date, and got married a year after that.

I think I knew from the first night I met my husband that we would be together and marry. He was in the navy when I met him, so technically we dated for a year before we married, but he was away on cruise for 6 mo out of that time, so our time was really limited to 6 mo to get to know eachother.

Hubby and I knew instantly and on our second date, he asked me to marry him. We married 8 months later. Will be married 3 years on the 27th.

I knew when my husband (a former Marine) told me that after boot camp, he would have to go to Okinawa, Japan for 6 months. We had been together for 4 months. We became a couple on the second day we met. I was 16 and he was 18. I knew I didn't want to lose him, even though I was so young. . Long story short, we married a few months after I turned 18.

Hmmm. I met my hubby in Aug. About a week later, when he called me from the airport saying he was going back to his base earlier than planned, I knew that there was something special there. We got engaged that November and married the following March. That was 32 years ago!
