When did I become the Establishment???

My son has rejected everything that I believe in. Suddenly, I have become bourgeois. When did this happen?? It was only yesterday that I was wearing a black arm band, supporting troop withdrawl from Viet Nam, believed that if we could live in a commune, that this world would be a better place. When did a guitar riff become so not phat or whatever the word is today??? When did I become "The Man"?!?!?

I'm glad my sons reject the things I believed in back then.

I must admit that it was a bit of a thrill when my #2 asked me to show him the solo to All Along the Watchtower. We were camping and when I got up the next morning, there he was, sound asleep in his tent with his guitar laying across him. When he awoke he came running out of his tent yelling, "Dad, Dad, I got it!!" And, sure enough, he did. A chip off the old block!
Gosh, it still makes the tears well up thinking about it.

Probably when you started laying down the law, My 15 yr old is somewhat the same way. But no doubt I was the same at his age
