Creativity is a must. A writer, musician, or something along those lines. Doesn't have to be anyone famous or anything, just someone who has a creative mind. Long, thick hair is also a must - don't ask, I just love it.

I actually have MUCH more specific tastes than that, but my last girlfriend had NONE of the qualities I look for and I still loved her with all my heart. So while these are things I'd like, they're not requirements.

Bold. Humble. So Christ-focused that she'll give up absolutely anything in an instant, including me, to honor Him. Physically attractive. Confrontational. Strong enough to reign me in. Loving enough to understand when I'm struggling. Loyal. Modest. Constantly growing. Refuses to make excuses. Places value in those things that God places value in. Motherly. Fun. Doesn't take herself too seriously. Funny. Intelligent.

These are all qualities that I look for, but ultimately, whether or not I choose to marry someone comes down to where the Holy Spirit is leading. Maybe the girl I marry will be missing a lot of these qualities, and will serve to better balance me. I have no idea. I have desirable characteristics that I look for, but I'll toss them to be in obedience to my Lord.

a guy with a warped sense of humour, not too skinny, loves hockey, can put up with my love of hockey, has a variety of musical interests (except for rap), likes to travel, a non-smoker, doesn't want children, has things in common with me yet just different enough that we can learn from each other.

whew! no wonder I'm single! haha

Hmm...my type is the intellectual. Likes thinking about the important stuff of life, but he also has to have a quick wit, and enjoys a good joke. I like to banter :p lol. As for appearance, I seem to go for the tall, lanky guys. I'd like someone who wouldn't judge me for my weaknesses, cause I have alot. I also like the reserved, understated guys. The ones that don't have to be the center of attention, and would rather be on the sidelines helping people and don't care about the spotlight. :)

Oh, and non smoker. Very important.

has things in common with me yet just different enough that we can learn from each other.

^^well put :)

aside from the personality traits and looks...I think it's important to have someone who's not afraid to let you know what's up in regards to the areas that need change in your life...communication is key for me...

I would kill for an intelligent, affectionate, athletic woman. Like this one:

Out of curiosity..

Do you really think what we think we would "want" in spouse right now are going to remain true throughout our entire married life, or even in our "search"? :)

From my experience (seeing other people get hooked and married), it seems to generally happen that you end up loving/marrying/God "sets you up" with someone that didn't meet what you were looking for. Different interests, different ... different whatevers. Hehe. Techie people with totally non-techie people, for instance.

(Slightly off topic, but I was curious :D)
