Impatience/intolerance regarding the weaknesses of others. I believe myself to be this way because they say that what annoys you most about others is what you, yourself, are annoyed at in yourself. So, by that train of thought, I am very impatient with myself and my own weaknesses, as well. I want perfection and a part of me feels that it is possible.

What is the sin that currently you find yourself most tempted by, or committing most frequently? How do you avoid it? Need prayer?

In terms of what I think as *most harmful* AND *commit frequently* I'd say:

Lying. That is - making excuses to myself for some behaviours and attitudes I have that I know I shouldn't. It keeps me in bondage. It keeps me from having a more abundant life.

I drink too much.

Sloth - it's often related to the above, especially for the first part of the day.

Masturbation to 2D images, either in my mind or on screen. Even though I don't consider it a sin in itself - I've used it to effectively cut off myself from an intimate relationship with a woman. I am not cold or callous - but the last time I even approached intimacy brought back a tidal wave of really strong emotion related to my deceased wife that frankly scares me. I don't enjoy feeling destroyed, full of despair and suicidal.

That's not really a sin, Mac. :p

Some will claim that the above equates with the Deadly Sin Sloth; but I think Catholics have traditionally maintained that Sloth is a sin that's committed in a spiritual, as opposed to worldly, sense. But I'm not 100% sure on that.

Anyway, my sins: backsliding, fickleness, iconoclasm, lust, stubborness, unkindliness, gossip, sabbath desecration.

my sins: . . . iconoclasm . . . sabbath desecration.

Why do you think iconoclasm is a sin, and what do you mean by "sabbath desecration"?

I'm sort of proud to be an iconoclast. Show me a sacred cow and I'll tip it over and then kick it for good measure.

I use the terms 'iconoclasm' and 'idolatry' interchangeably; though not everybody does, the two are inextricably bound together.

And by sabbath desecreation I mean Exod. 31:14-15; Exod. 35:2; Num. 15:32-36.

I thought that iconoclasm was the opposite of idolatry. One who tears down the icons of a false religion would be an iconoclast, in fact.

Yes, but the term's often lumped together with nonbelief, which I'd put in the same category as idolatry.

Sorry to confuse you. :p

The sin that easily entangled me in the past was sexual lust. I've learned that that to overcome this is/was only by being filled with God's Word. The more I filled myself up with God, the less desire I had to sin in this manner. The spirit will overcome the desires of the flesh IF we daily fill ourselves up with His presence. Through this struggle, I've become much more aware of how the enemy (Satan) works to bind us like this. But only through Jesus will you be Free indeed.
