From what I understand there are five of them.

1. Words of affirmation

2. Quality time spent with loved ones

3. Acts of service

4. Gifts

5. Physical touch (hugs and the like)

Mine is words of affirmation. I can't remember who wrote this book, either Gary Smalley or James Dobson. I really need to work on tuning in to what my loved ones love languages are. For instance, one friend of mine favors quality time spent above all else, so I have made a committment to her to spend one full afternoon a week with her.

What about anyone else?

Written by Gary Chapman. I have two books, one concerning marrieds, and the other concerning children. Both good.

Quality time seems to be my language. Gifts comes in last, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate it from time to time. :)

Since my kids are small, it is hard to figure them out. So I try to speak in all the languages.

I think my 5 year olds is words of affirmation. She needs alot of reassurance. Probably too early to tell with my 3 year old, but I don't think she cares about anything. LOL!
