CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Most of my writing bits and bobs have been very close to the boundary between SF and Fantasy. Usually I tilt toward the SF direction.

As you can tell with my name I go with Fantasy. I LOVE to write and hope to be like Christopher Paolini some day. I am already starting my story. I messed up on my age. I'm actually 13.

I generally write a lot of fantasy, though it usually involves some "mind-bender" twist in it. I'm going to be the next J.R.R. Tolkien, so you know, no pressure.

She's not remotely interested in the posts but loves the CF characters & avatars. Yours is one of her favourite CF characters too. She's a bit precocius & will be totally thrilled you responded. Thankyou for being so kind.tell your 11 yr old that she has good taste

I used to think I was totally Science Fiction, but not so much these days. I have dabbled in a few other kinds, including a fantasy complete with elves, a hollow tree and a new kind of cookie which makes you burp in bright colors.
I tried a ghost story recently, for an on line exercise. I was told it was a cliche' story, but that I handled it well. (I'm currently tied for first place.) But I've found the whole ghost story experience kind of unsettling. Live and learn I guess.
