I like IE-based browsers like Avant Browser. I sometimes use Avant, and sometimes IE6. I like Mozilla/Firebird too, but I find that there's some problems w/ things like WebControls (not the same as ActiveX BTW) and CSS, which I find annoying, so I generally stick to IE-based browsers.

ROFL!! Problems with CSS in Moz as opposed to IE?! You do realise the only reason this is the case is that everyone codes wrong, badly written CSS with a load of hacks in just to get ti to display correctly on IE, which then makes it display poorly on Moz or Opera?

Oh dear...

(I'd give you an example but my site isn't launched yet. It uses W3C standards and displays incorrectly in IE, but correctly in Moz and Opera. I know the exact IE bug that makes it look wrong as well. Stupid block elements not doing their margins correctly grr.)

Opera 7.2/Opera 7.5 preview release for me.

IE is awful with CSS. Let's look at a typical IE CSS example, from your average 14 year old AOLer:

<style type="text/css">
<!--
body {
annoying scrollbar things;
direction:ltr; /* Just to confuse everyone */
}
-->
<!--
table {
stupid opacity filter that slows down everyone's computer;
}
-->
-->
</style>
<style>
body, table td, div {
annoying filter to make text glow bright pink;
change line-height to make lines so close together, they are unreadable;
}
-->
</style>

My eyes hurt typing that :(

- Keith (who is pedantic about compliant, merged CSS)

Personally i use the media browser in RealOne, jut becuase my computer is infected with Spyware which i havent got round to gettign rid of and this way i can browse the internet without those annoying popups.
I suggest you get rid of that Spyware using Ad-Aware. I think you'd find it less of a hassle than using some workaround to keep from getting popups.

Yes, I'm aware of that - but it isn't my fault :p. In my sites I make sure things work under all browsers, with the exception of XML (which is IE-only) and WebControls (which work partially in Mozilla but not enough to be useful).

Wa wa waaa??? :D
No popups
No banners
No spyware
Its blinding fast
It’s very easy to read

That’s a DOS/Windows version. Actually on my windows machines I run a program named putty and connect to a remote shell account and run Lynx on their computer hehe. I can change colours so it looks better than that windows grey look. On my Linux computer I just run a console which can look any way I can dream up with bg images or transparencies.

I don’t think I have a favorite browser. I use Lynx, MSEI, Konqueror and Mozilla each to their own strengths. ;)

Opera can be customised beyond belief, you just have to know where to look.

For example, if I want to search for a dictionary definition, I just type in "d word" into the address bar, and it searches dictionary.com. Similarly, typing in "a name" searches Amazon for a product, "b reference" searches BibleGateway.com for that reference etc.

Very useful :)

After quite a lot of experience in standards-compliant web design, I would never use IE as my main browser again, ever.

What rendering engine does MyIE2 use? Its website really doesn't seem that informative, or at least it has nothing about what I want to know about it - that is, what engine it uses, is it based on Internet Explorer in any way (as the name seems to imply) etc.

Its currently based on the IE engine altho the latest version includes beta support for gecko/mozilla as well (must download mozilla 1.5 activex control) - its buggy so far and I hope they come to fully support it.

I'd explain some of the features but there really are too many and only certain ones will be valuable to certain people's prefs. Tons of great plugins as well.

I have opera installed and have tried 7.5 too but I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of speed for convenience.
