And my guilty pleasure--the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I'm devouring Wolves of Calla right now. It's such an incredible series; I hope he finishes it!

As I Lay Dying...good choice. Though, I did not choose to read that one...I had to for English 101...I did like it though, nice read.


Crydon...I also saw the movie "Where The Red Fern Grows." But, liked the book far better, and yes, everytime I read about when "Old Dan" and "Little Ann" died I was in tears. Very sad.

I had to read thAT book in the 5th grade, and thought it was great. I haven't read it since, though.

For anyone interested in epic fantasy the absolute best series ever written has got to be the Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R.R. Martin. The books are works of pure genius. The characters are the most well developed I have ever encountered in any novel and you can never trust the typical archtypes that most fantasy books are made up of. The action and political intrigue are by far the most realistic ever put in a fantasy novel. However, since this is a Christian board I must warn anyone who might be interested in picking them up that these novels are dark and might offend some Christians.

As far as the Dark Tower novels, from what I understand of the new introduction in the rerelease of the first novel, the series is completely finished now and he is just staggering the release of the books.

Case for Christ ~ Lee Strobel

Excellent book, I have read it about 15 times. It is good reading for the believe and nonbeliever alike. The amazing thing is he is a atheist when he began writing the book! It is well worth the money for the book, which you can buy multiple copies of at a reduced price.

New Testament ~ Bible (Apostles with coauthor of GOD)


The Parables and teachings of Jesus, just simply amazing. Cannot describe with words.

I love the Dragonlance series by Margarot Weiss and Tracy Hickman! Especially the legends trilogy.

One of my favorite books is 'The Once and Future King' by T.S. White. I read it when I was younger and just absolutely loved it. I have always liked the King Arthur legend, anyway, though.

Has anyone ever read When the Elephants Dance by Tess Urize Holthe??Its about the Japanese occupation of the Phillipines during WWII and its absolutely awesome! I loved this book.
