My favorite is
Silmarillion by Tolkien,
and there are a lot more of them(in no particular order):
Lord of the Rings(Tolkien)
Narnia chronicles(Lewis)
Screwtape letters(Lewis)
all of the Amber chronicles books(Zelazny)
stuff by E.A.Poe(I know it`s not a book, but I just love Tell-Tale Heart and The Raven)
The Song of Albion trilogy(can`t remember the writer`s name, and I haven`t read the third one)
Harry Potter books(and no,I do not consider them satanic or promoting witchcraft)
Hobbit(Tolkien)
the Miles Vorkosigan books(Bujold, they do have a certain charm, you can`t deny that)
The Hitchikers`s Guide to Universe and the rest of the saga(Adams)

...hope I didn`t forget any...;)

Most anything by Elizabeth George (almost got to hear her speak one time, but was too jet lagged after coming home from a mission trip)

Most anything by Philip Yancey (esp. Reaching for an Invisible God)

The Visitation by Frank Peretti (also very much liked The Happy ROom)

An Arrow Pointing to Heaven (Rich Mullen's biography)

I also liked Boy Meets Girl by Joshua Harris. Just read it recently so don't know if it will become a favorite)

Absolute favorite (other than the Bible):

The Father Heart of God by Floyd McClung

Yes,most people don`t even read the first 10 pages, but if you dig deeper, you realise how the whole world of Middlearth is connected, and how deep it is.I especcialy like the story "Of Beren and Luthien".
And there are such epic stories of courage in that book,it is really a wonderful book if you like Tolkien`s work.

BTW:Have you read the whole book?

P.S.-Have you read the Appendix to the LOTR?(there are really good stories in there)

No and yes.

I got about 50 pages into it and couldn't continue  I may try again sometime. It felt like I was reading a bible for Middle Earth, I find our own Bible keeps me busy enough, and as difficult to read at times. :p
