Defined by whom?I have never hated a Jew in my life. As regards to marriage I am afraid I cant accept that because marriage by defination is twixed man and women.
Christian marriage as a partnership and tradition is, but what about the fact that other religions and societies refer to the partnership of two people as marriage?I have never hated a Jew in my life. As regards to marriage I am afraid I cant accept that because marriage by defination is twixed man and women.
Although I have heard the other side of the argument as well. Espically from Bishop Gene Robinson (but again I dont agree with him)
A Christian should not have any hatred at least that is my view sin is the most repugnant thing to a Christian not personalities.
Defined by whom?
I expected you would say "God", or some such. But then that begs the question: "What is marriage?". Is it of religion? Of the state? A public declaration of (romantic) love and commitment? You know what I am going to say here don't you
That's the thing about dictionaries: definitions change. Also I once read it in a Dictionary.

I have never seen your alias before, nor have I heard of this "Book of Common Prayer". Must you continue to make assumption?Must I bring out the Book of Common Prayer and tell you why I believe it was ordained by God as I am sure you well aware
By considering just what it means for a man and a woman to be 'married', I see no reason why this should be arbitrarily restricted to just male-female couples.Aside from my religious conviction regarding the issue I see no reason for two lovers of the Homosexual ilk to be together (I may however object to the lifstyle but I will not persecute them for it) I object to the term marriage being used as marriage is between man and women.
Where do you stand on this issue

Actually, the Bible does state that the sins of Sodom included sexual immorality, going after strange flesh, and all that. The problem, of course, is that it never explains just what sexual practices were deemed immoral, nor what flesh was strange.
Not where I live.As regards to marriage I am afraid I cant accept that because marriage by defination is twixed man and women.
One who lives in a city known as Sodom?Liberal or conservative, promiscuous or devoted, what is your definition of "Sodomite," as it refers to behavior?
It's a fantastic word, always reminds me of the 1930s for absolutely no reason. "Homosexualist" is just as good.True. And the word "Sodomy" seems to me to be a euphemism. An attempt to be pejorative, while still maintaining a certain preciosity of speech.
Apparently soYou Brits (who invented the language) are much more to the point. Can I say "buggery" in these forums?
Not at all. I am from Bristol, but I'm not too clued up on the ins and outs of Anglicanism. Shame on meI do beg your pardon I did assume that as your location is Bristol that you would have heard of the Anglican Book of Common Prayer used by teh Church of England and for that I apologise.
It is true what they say to ASSUME makes an ASS out of U and ME. (Do you see what I did there)
To satiate both sides: the pro-same-sex-marriage side get pretty much what they ask for (civil partnerships are marriages in all but name), and the anti-same-sex-marriage side get what they ask for as well (it isn't, technically, marriageIf it where not the case why did the Labour Goverment not just call it marriage?
I'm not aware of a law that prohibits the usage of any word. What makes you think it is illegal to utter the word "sodomite" in the UK?I do believe the term has been made illegal in the UK can anyone shed any light on this?
just to point this out, this is 100% wrong.Even many of the old jewish scholars like Josepheus and writers of the Midrash knew about Sodoms sexual immorality without even having to read the bible.
"Love the sinner hate the sin" is something Christians say in order to facilitate their prejudice. It is of course impossible to do this in the case of sexuality. Sexuality is something one is, not something one does.Is it not the duty of a Christian to love the sinner and hate the sin? I am quite conservative in this particular issue.
