I mean they did release an accesory of false gods, but they were ALL MADE UP Cristianity isnt the only religion left out of the book, Greek, Budism, Hinduism, THERE IS NO REAL RELIGEONS/(FAKE)GODS IN THERE.

Ah... With the exception of a few literary pantheons (Arthurian, Nehwon, Melnibonean, Cthulhu Mythos, etc.) and made-up demihuman ones, the entries in the original Deities & Demigods were drawn from various mythologies of Earth-- Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Chinese, Mesoamerican, etc. In the 20+ years I've been playing D&D and such, I've never known anyone who actually worshipped any of these gods, worshipped the devil or practiced magic because of the game's influence.

On the other hand... I have known plenty of people who sent their characters to do battle against the gods as described in Deities & Demigods or whichever book. For this reason I'm glad Christianity was omitted; I honestly can't see how including statted-out versions of God, Jesus, the apostles, the angels, the devil, etc. in a book like Deities & Demigods wouldn't really do anything to inspire gamers to become Christians-- instead you'd hear stories down at the game shop about how so-and-so's 25th level anti-paladin killed Jesus in single combat (and took all his kewl magical equipment), right after he pushed Thor off a cliff...

Just what I think, CP.

Get to know the people you game with BEFORE you game with them. Otherwise you could get sucked into a life-consuming 'hobby'.

And if it's too rule-oriented, I recommend a good White Wolf game like Aberrant or Mage.
The time consumption is one of the main reasons I don't play I had quite a few other interests already I just didn't want to cut back on them for this hobby.

The Gelatinous Cube hits you for 12 points of damage. And slimes your newly aquired Cloak of DryCleaner. Because he can.

For those saying it is satanic, may I ask - how do you feel it differs in terms of spirituality from many video games that are popular with youth today?
I can't find where anyone has actualy said it was satanic. Who are you talking about?
