1. Global Warming

We're finally doing something about it, staying at home and being a lot more fuel efficient

The public usually have a better idea of how to solve things than both parties. I don't follow politics but people I know do and they are saying:

Republicans are mainly in denial and will do nothing about Global Warming

Democrats want to inject trillions of dollars creating millions of well-paid Middle Class jobs...

to me well-paid means holidays on distant tropical islands, going on cruises, buying luxury MPVs and bigger houses and overall creating as much CO2 as they can afford.

As we can see right now being poor is a lot more effective. Although there are responsible ways to spend money, like a neighbor put up a hot air solar panel decades ago and it does essentially all the house heating and hot water and has done for many years. Many people are not that way inclined.

A relative of mine is very concerned about Global Warming, or Climate Change as he calls it, and was a visiting something at a University in the US and flew back and forth across the Atlantic at least once a month round trip, for a few years. I haven't flown anywhere in 5 years or even been out of this state,

He has the money, but I save lots of fuel and CO2 because I'm poor.

Unfortunately the US Congress is owned by lobbyists:
1 Pharmaceuticals & Health Products 3,937,356,877 dollars
2 Insurance ___________________2,704,636,807 dollars

So the chances of a getting a sensible healthcare system is about zero.

It doesn't matter who is President, no bill will get through Congress until it has been stripped of cost controls on pharmaceuticals and includes generous payouts to the healthcare insurance companies.

And that is a primary factor in making US companies noncompetitive against other countries.

US manufacturing is not doing well compared with Germany which tops the table of nations ranked by balance of trade (Current Account Balance).

Germany pays it's car workers twice as much and makes twice as many cars.

But US healthcare costs are the highest in the World, twice what they should be, so the car makers are paying out to healthcare companies in addition to the payroll.

Where does all that money go?

A nearby hospital has more costing administrators than beds, allocating costs between the first payer, second payer and patient on a zillion items and categories of expenses. The same test could be classed as screening or diagnoses and only after the payer has refused it three times will the cost be passed on to the next payer.

It took me a whole year to find out for certain that I was not covered for Medicaid because the ins and outs of the coverage are totally baffling.

The Democratic Deficit:

The big question is how will the public, who favor each other and the common good, get our opinions not just heard but acted on by the government.

The intent of the OP is that anyone can list any problem and if they wish also a possible way to fix it...
