I believe you. And from what I've seen, it seems that the Word also gets left out in most churches these days. Without it, there's no real discernment, or faith for that matter. And false gifts are also added, and barely questioned. It's true, it is a very interesting and very important subject. Discernment (and the gift of discernment) usually gets left out completely or talked about very little in those very churches that seem to emphasize the Spiritual gifts so much.
In any case, you are correct, we need to be very careful. Unfortunately what has been happening in so many churches in North America has been spreading around the world, and I truly do not think it's going away. The Scriptures do warn of such increasing deception in the last days.
I've heard of false discernment, which seems to be basically intuition... People who go by feeling, and not by the Word. It baffles me to be honest, that it's so widespread, although it's not surprising. And yes, all that is spreading. We have some churches like that over here as well.
So let's keep spreading Truth. It's needed.
I "grew up" in the Faith alone, just me and God, and His Word, for two years. I had very Biblical expectations, of how to follow Christ, how to be led by the Spirit, when I started having fellowship with other Christians. But it ended up being a minefield, with falsehood and aggression everywhere. I knew from His Word it was gonna be like that, but I had no idea it could be this bad. I got persecuted instantly, only for spreading the Truth and witnessing about Jesus. There is so very little of Christ left in the Church today. Many false christs, but very little of the real Jesus Christ.
Please excuse me if I ramble a little. I've been stuck in depression for a while, and having been feeling really lost and confused, doubting everything (because of what I just told you), so God is now giving me my strength back just helping me talk about Him.
May He bless you!
