I never noticed your question about Texas, Reborn. I happened upon this old post by accident. So let me just go ahead and answer it belatedly now. A lot of Texas is ranch land and farms (outside the urban areas obviously) There is some desert as you get into far west Texas almost to El Paso. Texas is a very large state and consequently, spans a lot of different areas for one state. Texas has more dry heat towards the west, more humidity down further south, expecially in the area towards the gulf of Mexico.Thank you for your comments about the thread kaykay.
When I think of Texas I think of green ranch-land. Are there deserts at all? The nearest I've been is New Mexico, but we were just travelling through, in an air-conditioned bus, from Arizona to Colorado. I've been to the USA twice, both times in August (1972 and 2000), and found the heat easier to bear than during my European holidays as everywhere was air-conditioned! Also I found the dry heat in the south-west easier to cope with than the humidity I experienced in New York State. Like you I prefer cooler weather.
Do you have lightning, wind, and hail very often?
Would you like me to bring some fresh basil and parsley? I have a bit.
I am sorry, you have 'thrown me' somewhat with this post ?
Did you mean to post this on the 'breakfast thread' ?
