Another day of 60% chance of rain, lightning, hail. . . . Yesterday, once again, we got caught in a long drive with lightning cracking all around us. It's so nerve wracking!

It would seem we ended up being under the 30% who didn't get storms.

But, we did see a neighbor's oak tree that was struck yesterday by lightning. It's all brown, and there's a signature strike down the whole trunk. I really feel bad for them. It was a beautiful tree, at least ten years old.

It's been perfect today - not too hot and not too cold (about 65 - 70F I guess)!

You seem to get some really bad storms in FL, rahmiyn.

Yes, they keep saying we live in the lightning capital of the world. This year seems more active, but then I'm probably noticing it more because I've been getting caught in them while driving. It's so scary when you're out in a car, especially on the expressway or interstate.

A high-pressure system is supposed to give us a dry and hot weekend. Dry would be nice for a couple of days, but we need the rains to green everything up again.

Hot and sunny here. It's already 96 degrees (F) and it's just after noon. If today stays dry, it will be our third day without a good storm.
