Rainy, in the 70s F. Flood warnings for a couple of rivers. Yesterday, they closed one of the expressways near here because of flooding, and several nearby towns reported seeing funnel clouds. It should be a good year for the crops if nothing else, every time I head downstate the fields are as green as green can be.

Tonight, things get-- ahhhh--- interesting. Thunderstorms, some could be severe, with heavy rain, wind, hail and isolated tornadoes.

I wonder how you isolate a tornado? Send it to its room without its supper?

Looking at the radar image on Accuweather, there is a line of nasty-looking stuff in Iowa just about to cross the Mississippi into Illinois. Expect it to be here in the Chicago area along about 10:00 PM or so, if it holds together.

We got through the heavy weather last night without too much trouble. The sump-pump runs about every twenty minutes but that's about it.

Right now, partly cloudy, mid 70s F. Cooling tonight, probably down to the mid 50s F. Tomorrow-- could I be reading this in July? Mid 60s for the high? Really? Well, that's what the forecast says anyway. July in Chicago-- whod'a guessed mid 60s for a high?

The weather near my is like the sweet smell of death to a 7th Day Adventist's unsaved. I am overcome with the nothingness of it.

Sunny today, actually not too bad. Mid 50s F right now, going up to 78F today.

No rain until Sunday forecast-- if then, July weather being what it is. (Around here, they throw in a 30% chance of rain "just because". Don't change your out-door plans because of it, but do keep in mind that the chance of rain is there.)

I had to look at the calendar.

Then I had to look AGAIN.

July. July 11, at least that's what the calendar says.

I'm still not sure.

The radio weather reports that next week-- oh, I know you won't believe this-
we get another "Polar Vortex".

Last time we got one of those, it was January and temps went below zero F.

This won't be like that, but still noticeably cooler than July is supposed to be around here.

Right now-- upper 60s F under clear skies. Going up to the upper 70s today,
storms tonight possible.

Now-- wheredid I put that parka?
