We came out of a 2 week long "Arctic Blast" on Saturday and Yesterday got up to 38F. but looks like our warm spell was short lived temps are dropping again

Right now, 25F (one of these days I'm just gonna have to learn what that is in C) going up possibly to "freezing". Snow today possibly an inch, as an Alberta Clipper rolls through town. Then down to 15F tonight.

For those of you not familiar with them: "Alberta Clippers" are winter storms that originate in Alberta Province, Canada and come through the American Midwest. They are fast-traveling storms, bringing usually a couple of inches-- rarely ever more than four inches, usually less-- of snow, wind-- today's winds could gust to 40mph-- and then cold air in the storm's wake.

I had the pleasure of keeping ahead of this current Clipper yesterday, having made a delivery in North Dakota yesterday morning under clear skies, headed for home here in Chicagoland only hours before the storm's predicted arrival. This one appears to have tracked through the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin and then dipped South through Wisconsin to get Northern Illinois before heading across the lake this afternoon to get Lower Michigan and Northern Indiana on its way East.

That helps a lot. Mama Dory mentioned (in the chatroom at the top of CF) that the temperature had settled to 35C just before she and her children went to bed, and now I know by looking-- without air conditioning, that's blistering hot for sleeping.
