:prayer: May your needs be met in abundance Trailtrader Bro'

:amen:

Thank You- I'm not too worried as long as the aquifer's are filled by late February. If they're not filled via snowpack then we'll have problems with wheat in Eastern Washington, which in turn will cause the price of bread to go up which will land on your table. The cycle continues I suppose!

It has been absolutely wonderful here in southern Missouri. Cool breezes, low humidity, low temps, but plenty of rain!!!! Thank God, we need the rain badly! We have had fall like weather a month early. It has started warming up, but still have fall nights!:D:D:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Not yet Sue, we have another ten days or so to go

Thing is, that they are doing every house around us [except for owner occupieds ?]
with bits and pieces, in each house, taking place, more or less haphazardly
We do, have a schedule... but, that, is varied according to circumstances
that were not included when planning took place

Rose, our next door neighbour [owns her home]
and refused to let them erect scaffolding in her garden
to allow them to complete our roofline works UNLESS they did her's also
They want to charge her hundreds of pounds for her roof...
so she flat out refuses, to give them access

They are rescheduling our works, until, they can bring in another type of scaffolding
which will allow them safe-access to our roof
The porch outside our front door, makes use of their present scaffolding impossible
because it needs to be 'bridged'

We will be without our bath, for, at least a week... NIGHTMARE!! :D :D

dave

I hope they manage to sort the access problem Dave. :) A week without a bath!  all goes well!

Today it's been dry and cool, with a bit of sun.

Hi Sue Sis'

The contractors are using platform towers with walkways between them
the two porches [next door's and our's] has a small gap on our side
in which they can erect another form of scaffolding that they can bridge with their tower
at the front while two towers and a bridge can be used at the back

Yes, the week without a bath is something everyone has to endure
due, entirely to the installation technique
They stripped the tiles from the wall last week, will instal the bath and shower tomorrow
and, also seal, around three sides
Then they will 'tile' over the coming days ~the bath may be usable, this-weekend

Mary and I have past experience with strip washing at the basin
and, while not ideal [long term] it 'will work', for this short while :D

Similar 'weather' here, today... not too warm, but, some sunshine with a cool breeze

We had Oxfam on the doorstep this evening
drumming-up direct debit contributions, for 'foreign aid'
I turned them down [of-course] "There is, no 'money' here"

The car needs £150 worth of repairs, £80 insurance instalment on the 28th
new MOT exam £40 on the 31st, followed by 6 months car tax first week of September
Today I paid £12 installment, on the council tax we now also have-to pay
this, is yet another matter, from the rent contribution that we pay, by direct debit

This government, will soon have us applying for, food stamps
In 27 months, we will no-longer have-to pay for a television licence
which will provide us at-least some saving each year

I wish I could still work...

Fair tonight, lows around 60F. Sunny tomorrow with highs in the low 80s. Then........

Into the fiery furnace for the Chicago area, Sunday's high will be near 90, lows in the 70s until at least Tuesday and highs in the 90s.

Having a thunder storm this morning in my location. (The bike race scheduled for today might have to be canceled...)

COWARDS! Now that'd be a bike race I'd like to watch! Anyone can dodge cars, little kids, bricks thrown from highway overpasses but it'd take real skill to dodge lightening bolts!;):p:thumbsup:^_^

In my area, the thing to be concerned about where bike races and thunderstorms are in the neighborhood are wind, heavy rain, lightning (you're exposed on a metal-framed machine) and, if you're on the paths around here, the mess that gets made when a crushed-limestone path gets soggy. Canceling a race if the weather is going to be bad seems like a good idea.

Chicago area: Forget about thunderstorms for the next few days, I'd be more concerned about excessive heat. We're going to be in the low 90s F, with little chance of any rain for a bit. Right now, 86F under sunny skies, going down to 65F tonight, then soaring to high 80s/low 90s tomorrow. Lows in the 70s for the next few days.

I ment riding a metal bike out in a thunderstorm was a joke
