Well it was threatening to storm here, but didn't A number of miles to the south, Shawnee, Oklahoma got hit hard by a tornado. A sister from our church who lives very close to it called us earlier to advise that she had suffered a broken window in her apartment and had lots of hailstone dents in her car, but nothing worse. Give God glory for her and pray for those who lost everything including their homes.

I had a run up to Minnesota, started from here at 1:00 in the morning and made the delivery there at 9:00, then back home. I always seem to get there after the weather has passed or before it gets there, yesterday on the way back I could have used some cloud cover but the skies were disgustingly clear.

Right now, Villa Park Illinois: 72F, partly cloudy, 40% chance of rain. Lows in the 50s and highs in the 80s for the foreseeable.

In all my travels I haven't seen a tornado. Not that I'm complaining, judging by what I do see it looks like the best place to see a tornado is on TV, just that I've never seen one in person. Once, when I was standing down at a rest stop in Southern Indiana a big gust did pick an industrial trash can lid up and throw it at the back of my van, but that's about it.

Very hot and humid here. About 90 degrees with high humidity. Praise the Lord I have AC. My dog is panting all the time. Getting her hair cut real short tomorrow.

and, leave her to drip dry [and repeat, as-necessary]
You will enable her to lose heat by evaporation [?]

Do not do this in advance of a rapid change to cooler temperatures

Tom, I am thankful for your safety. I am also praying for my many friends that I had in south OKC and Moore. I pray for all the families that become the victims of the tornado. The storm grew weaker before it hit us. we are still in a moderate risk.

The tornado warning was lifted, and the t-storm lessened as it approached us.
We had some lightning, heard a few rumbles, and got heavy rain.

A severe storm watch is in effect for a few more hours.
