It's 75F right now with on and off heavy rain. As it stands now, our family gathering will probably be inside. We're getting ready to go right now. It's possible that our family fireworks will be rained out - we'll see. Regardless, we needed the rain, so I give thanks for it.

There were fireworks after all. The soft gentle rain didn't inhibit it one bit. And the rain is still falling, nice and easy. It's so beautiful! Every green and fresh again, temperatures cooler than they had been. Thank You, LORD!

Hot, humid, chance of storms for the next several days.

Bad part: Because it's the holiday, the apartment complex's office is closed and therefore the pool is also closed.

Good thing: My apartment is on the North side of the building so it doesn't get as hot as apartments on the sunny side of the buildings do. It makes air conditioning somewhat cheaper than it would be otherwise.

Schaumburg's weather is just like Carol Stream's. We have 88F at 11.36am.
I can't beleive that just because the complex's office is closed that they also close the pool. That doesn't seem right.

It turns out I was wrong about the office/pool being closed today. They're open.

Howsomever, since the only access to the pool is through the clubhouse, the pool is only open when the office/clubhouse is open. They were closed all day yesterday, a recognised holiday.

Last year was worse: The clubhouse/pool was under reconstruction so there was zip-nada the entire summer.

At just after midnight, it's 80F here with more rain in the forecast. Our farmers and ranchers are giving thanks for the rain. They need it, and it's coming at the perfect time

The rain has come to end - finally! But it was very, very nice, cooling things off quite a bit. We could get a couple of showers today, but mostly a sunny day is to be expected, and not too awful hot, maybe 90-91, but extremely humid.

Hope you're having fun despite the heat wave! Yeah, getting in the water is probably the best way to cool off. After I swim, it seems like I actually feel a little cooler for several hours after I get out of the water.
