CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I hadn't heard the latest weather reports, actually, so you are ahead of me on this one.
I speak with my father every day on the phone and he didn't mention it at all, so I just looked it up and indications are that it will not get as far down as NZ. They're saying it has been downgraded from a Super Typhoon now too. Sounds like Japan is the country that will get the most impact from it, but hopefully they are well prepared there.

Well; it was partly cloudy and a little warm with a high of 85F and no rain yet.
Also a note; Tom; the weather on CF looks like clear skies and smooth sailing weather for you; if you know what I mean.
Yes, we had a pretty mild year for tornadoes, and we give thanks. We also give thanks for lots of rain to fill up our municipal water supplies. We did have some flooding, but nobody was hurt or killed to my knowledge. Our next 7 days looks very mild - 70s and low 80s.

My older brother and nephew live near Portland. I think that weather patterns for both of us this year have been pretty strange. I remember years past comparing our temperatures in the summer. Here it was 110 and there it was 75. Many folks in Oregon think that 95 is frying. My brother used to rub it in saying they didn't need an air conditioner.
