The temperature dropped to 20F yesterday morning in the Utica NY area. The previous overnight (Nov 22) we had about 2 inches of snow which quickly melted. Signs of spring are quite delayed due to cool temperatures and lack of sunshine. None of the trees have leaves but some are budding. Boxelders flowering and some Norway Maples beginning to flower. The grass is a deep green but too early to mow.

It is Autumn in Australia, we haven't had much cold weather yet but I'm sure it will come in soon.
Today was a lovely day around 21C where I am and the trees on the main road of the village I live in are beautiful in their Autumn colours. Mostly it is gum trees here that are the same year round so it is lovely to see Autumn colours which are on the trees planted in gardens and the main road of some towns.
Of course nothing like the UK and the US, but beautiful anyway.
I took my dogs for a run down along the river which I can't do from about October-March in case of snakes and they love it so.

The sun was out and because I haven't been too well it felt so nice.

Then we went home and had to lay back on the couch.

I just noticed that for some reason in my prior entry that I stated that we had 2 inches of snow on Nov 22. I actually meant April 22. Some areas just to the south of us had reports of 4 inches.

Are tulips blooming? Not yet in my town, but there are lots of daffodils especially in my yard!

In the Mohawk Valley/Central New York Upstate NewYork. Sunny day with temperatures in the 60's. The weather has in the main been cloudy, rainy, windy with below normal temperatures. Signs of spring are noticeably delayed this year. Boxelder is coming into leaf. Some trees are flowering, but most have not yet reached this stage. Some lawns are beginning to be mowed for the first time. Tomorrow''s temperatures are supposed to top out in the high 60's. For most of the remainder of the week highs are expected to be in the 50''s with lows in the 30's. Still below normal for this part of the country.

I hope you're feeling okay. I got up and fell asleep yesterday with the TV on. I had a horrible dream and slept for hours sitting up; now my hip hurts and I've been awake all night!

I looked at our ten day forecast and I'm not happy. Some very cold nights which are supposed to be over and done with by Mother's Day, but it ain't gonna be over with
here.

In the Mohawk Valley, Upstate New York, we had our warmest day of the year so far with sunny skies and an official high of 75F at Griffiss Station. In the valley some trees were leafing with boxelders now having fairly developed leaves. A number of trees still budding and some flowering. There was a niticeable progression in the signs of spring in just 24 hours due to the warm temperatures and sunshine. At higher elevations just to the south trees were quite barren with boxelders just beginning to leaf. Skunk cabbage observed. A cold front came through early today with temperatures failing to rise with cloudy skies, some drizzle and light rain. The temperature at 3PM was 47 F. High temperatures this week are expected to be in the 40''s and 50's with cooler readings mainly later in the week. Possibility of snow Saturday and Sunday. A frost is predicted tonight and tomorrow night.

Unfortunately I am unable to make a correction after I have already posted. The 75 F was yesterday's (May 3) high. It was 47 at 3PM today after passage of a cold front.

Temperatures still subzero in some cases in the Canadian arctic.
