  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Our high today should be 88F. Thanks for the reminder to pray for those who are getting over hurricanes and earthquakes. Many will be in a struggle for months. We have a lot to give thanks for.

It's 63F now, but the high is supposed to be 68F here today in Central Oklahoma. We've had a light rain most of last night and today. We need the rain - thank you Lord.

Today it was 90-91 degrees Fahrenheit (32-33 degrees Celsius). It was clear and dry. Too hot for me to go walking for a half-hour in the afternoon. It was considerably cooler this time last week. Hey! It's supposed to be autumn now! But here in SoCal I don't think there is truly consistent fall weather until mid-October -- sometimes even Halloween.

I was wrong about the light rain I reported earlier. We've had 4 inches of rain this week, so God richly blessed us. Thank you Lord. It's 78F here today in Central Oklahoma - a beautiful day.
