u should tell God that. He never speaks back to me

God wants to speak to you. Be sure to check yourself before you blame God on your relationship. Are you truly opening up your heart to him? Are you pouring yourself out to him? Really open your heart to him. Dont just speak blindly as if you really are speaking to no one. Believe, and have faith that God will hear you. You just have to be 100% real.

If God, the Father almighty, does not speak back to you...the problem does not rest on Him. He would never refuse to speak to you, no matter what you've done in your life. I used to think that the reason why I heard nothing back from Him was because I had sinned too much...but it was simply my lack of faith that stopped me from receiving Him.

I'll truthfully say that I haven't completely opened up my heart to the all merciful Lord...I am a somewhat reserved person. I've watch a lot of the vivid prayers of Evangelicals...they just seem to happy. Doesn't matter if I reject their theology, they just seem so endowed by the Holy Spirit...

However when I go to church (which is very rarely, most of them are banned by the government) I can't help but letting out a few tears. When I see the cross, I am reminded of His sacrifice. No matter how little faith I have in Him, He still died for me.....

Faith, brother.

I once followed God with my feelings (not saying you are, but I'm just sharing my testimony.) and since my feelings changed all the time, I slipped away many times. Finally, I decided no matter what, feeling glorious or feeling down, I'd always trust in God. I had the same question as you: what's the point in praying?

It's not like when we pray to God, a sudden beam of light will shine on us and God will say "HERE I AM." in a mighty voice. I know and believe that God talks, sometimes not the way we expect. Once, I felt compelled to knock on a house I saw and witness the person living inside. Instead? I withdrew cowardly and felt ashamed. I felt as if God was looking at me, and I cringed up in shame. I was convicted, and it was like God was asking me, "Why did you not go there?"

God talks to us. Just not in a beam of light and a mighty voice. When I pray, I know and believe that He hears me. Then I just trust in Him if the prayer was for something I needed. If it's not His will for me to get that one thing.. then alright. I mean, His will alone, not mine.

But keep on praying. Talk to God through prayer and read His word. Prayer is directly speaking to God, and if you never prayed in a time of struggle, how can you expect him to help you? God does answer prayer.

Now, what is the point of praying? MANY points. It is something we must do (and reading the Bible! God talks to us through His word.)
