  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's the longest amount of time you have spent playing?

I own a PC and a 360 and I don't actually play that much. However reading through a games mag the other day i came across an article that talked about "marathon" sessions on a console. One guy spent 24 hrs on his x-box to see if he could do it. He played online for a large % of that time, but did it...

My longest time in one sitting is only about 4-5hrs (pro evo soccer).

What's yours and what game(s) did you play?

When Half-Life 2 came out, my apartment-mate and I started playing at midnight (the moment of release, as the game was front-loaded online) and didn't stop until we had completed the game. I'm not sure how long that took, but it was at least ten hours. We would yell at each other from across the apartment about how awesome the part we were playing through was.

I played EQ something like 18 hours once, slept 4 hours then played another 12 or so. It's been a long time so I can't remember for sure but I spent the vast majority of that weekend playing while my wife was out of town. Back then I'd frequently spend 8+ hours a day playing (on work days) and 12-16 hours a day on weekends.

I’ve spent 20+ hours (up to 24 hours) playing games a number of times, mainly playing Ultima Online some years back but at least that long once for EverQuest. Probably a few times a year I’ll play a game for 16 hours straight but most always an mmorpg such as SWG, CoH, PlanetSide, WWIIOL etc… 16+ hours is hard to do any longer though, I usually have something I need to be working on every day.

I lost myself once playing KOTOR II. It was about 2 am when I started....... I.......just......couldn't stop..........

It really didn't seem that long, maybe two hours if I had to guess......... I was grossly wrong. When I looked up, the sun was coming up!

Guild Wars has a reminder that pops up in chat that says "You have been playing for X hours. Please take a break."

I knew I was in trouble when it read..."You have been playing for one day. Please take a break."

The worst part is, I didn't stop then either.

Oblivion is another game that will keep me playing all night.
