Whats on your shopping list?

My "shopping" list today included paying for a skating lesson for my daughter, paying for her ice show dress, and getting her skates sharpened. Last night, she went out and bought fruit for the house. This weekend will probably include a trip to the grocery store but that will be too long to list here because it includes a week worth of food for 3. I also bought a college textbook and two online access sites that are mandatory for those classes...classes started this week for both my kids. I'm basically broke for the moment.

Aww good job! I remember taking skating lessons when I was younger. They're definitely expensive, but I think it's worth it. Especially if it's something she really loves.

I didnt know hawaii exports coffee, but then again I dont drink it so what would I know.

Nz has just started up tea plantations when a taiwanese grower started one only in the last few decades down in waikato, where they flourish.

So it could be if more tea plantations are established, we wont need to import as much from india or china. Im all for self sufficiency where its practical.

Of course, herbal teas you can grow your own.

Ok enough talk I'm going to have to go shopping otherwise my ferns are going to die on me.

This is what happens when greedy developers/ contractors take away all your topsoil when the land is subdivided only leaving enough to grow grass.

Cheaper teas have contaminants and issues. So getting away from the industrial mecca of Asia can be beneficial.
Taiwanese grow good tea there, but still there is some pollution, and issues.

I personally grow and process my own coffee. Really though Hawai'ii has almost no exports and tourism is key.

Ferns are in. I bought seaweed moss mulch too.
No shoe rack. Too pricy. No pots.

Then got mussels for dinner, but..we dont got no onions!
I said to mum just use spring onions. Im not making another shopping trip just for onions..

A friend showed me this lovely macrame butterfly poncho she found at the mall and kept hinting I should get one as well. I found it online so I might do a click and collect. But I generally dont like buying things online. They dont have it in the mall though so have to order it. Its on sale. Should I or shouldnt I? She had a white one the only colour they have left is hot pink. Hmm.

huh. all the hammocks are sold out. was looking online.
Have ordered one butterfly poncho, which had to get from Australia! So it might take up to 20 business days to get here..
will need to look in the pharmacy what they've got for seasickness tablets. I don't know how much they cost and if they really work.

Pineapples grow easily they're only grown for local use mostly. In our backyard we've got a lot of white pineapple.
Really our exports are low. I export woodwork to Australia, Japan, Canada, etc. But past some basics it's all tourism.
Honestly I see that as marketing as the external perception greatly differs from the internal view.
Hawaiian food is usually a lot different that what people think.
Shredded pork, and watercress. Short ribs. Shoyu chicken. Raw seasoned cubed fish.
More pork. Chicken. Fish.. Rice. Lots of rice. Umm. Hard but it's an Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino), Polynesian, and maybe a hint of American cooking. Big melting pot usually.

only thing left on list is sugar free chewing gum. This is so I don't have to keep brushing my teeth all the time when I travel.

seems like nz's main export apart from dairy, beef and lamb is pine, (just the logs), wine, and the big earner, tourism.

I expect as baby boomers start retiring more and more taking vacations, spending their inheritance, travel everywhere around the world becoming cheaper.

This all due to globalisation. I once tried to figure out if this was a conspiracy theory, which some of it is. I read that the World Bank, does actually have a lot of say in if a country succeeds or fails depending on how much debt it has.
But really its the Federal Reserve that must accept the blame for the control of the worlds economy. They can actually create money out of thin air, really, its just numbers in the end.

I do believe that as revelation warns us, that there will come a time when christians have to choose to stand on their faith or go the way of the world, because of the love of money, many will accept the mark of the beast as they cannot buy or sell without it.

I think RFID tags under you skin, or something permanently etched on/in you is the line I'd draw.

Thinking of peristaltic pumps for resin dispensing, along with a load cell, and stuff.
Then I push a button, two pumps run, and then towards the end they slow down since each pump will be a little different due to wear, amount of resin in container, head height, etc. Need to get resin down to 1ml since I'm wanting to dispense 25ml to 100ml. Got several cheap micro controllers, but need to order the pumps, motor controllers, and maybe air drier so the air that replaces the resin in the container has little humidity so it won't spoil it.

Past that I need a 220v plug which isn't easy to find, I've got 18kg of metal powder coming from China, and then more wood.
Personal stuff. Might buy a MI 1s band for my sister since she likes mine. Interesting device for $25 USD.
