I probably just spent more money than I should have on some books, but they have been on my list so long I decided to just get them.

There are more books on my list, but I need to wait and first go through what I already have. ^_^

I do need a few more lamps for my plants if I want to grow more herbs in the house this winter.

I also need a wool hat and thicker wool pants, since my good ones recently were ruined.

Other than that, there isn't anything I really want or need. I usually try to avoid spending money as much as possible since unexpected expenses sometimes come up that I have to put the money into.

All different kinds. Swiss Army knives, Spyderco, Emerson Kershaws, large size "pig stickers", survival knives of various kinds.

Opinel No.8. That's the best knife I have ever used, and my favourite out of the three I own. They don't hold their blade all that well, but for the price, you really can't go wrong.

I've got a Buck, but I don't really like it.

Ive just got forever sharp knives, a vege and a bread knife. Never need sharpening, stainless steel.

Theres four of them, i think it was on special so i gave one set to my brothers. Thats the only knives ive ever bought and dont need any more, as we got heaps already in the kitchen drawer.

My sister gave me a swiss army knife one christmas.

I also have scissors, which cut better than craft knives sometimes, although my dad used scalpal knives when he worked in newspaper layout, but that was in the old days when ppl literally cut up text for the paper.

Today's shopping list.

3 nikau palms.

I have been meaning to get them but wasn't sure where I would plant them yet. I saw them at a good price the other day. I would love to buy some tree ferns but they are expensive but my friend did say I could have some of hers for free.

I do feel sorry for those having to work retail this time of year, it's crazy busy.
Thankfully all the shops are shut christmas, and new years day. I don't remember when they actually used to be shut on Sundays but apparently they all used to shut even on Saturdays so that everyone could enjoy their weekend, housewives just did all their shopping on friday nights.

It just seems silly now that you could buy anything 24/7. People are just greedy or they are workaholics.

I didnt get the nikau palms. I think they might grow too big.
I just bought one tree fern instead. Its called wheki. I couldnt really resist, it looked so cute. I guess I had some money to spend and I had gone all that way and not to buy one plant would have been a waste of petrol...It was $20 but only got one. The nikaus were $16 each for small and $30 for big. Fully grown tree ferns cost at least $80.

Well it is christmas, so im buying a tree.

Then got some groceries for my dad. Tea, coffee, bread, milk.

That fern is similar to the ones in Hawai'i. If so do give it some shade, and ensure it's not cooked by the sun.
They're rather cool to say the least, and out here we usually grow orchids in them :)

funny. Friend gave me a gift voucher for christmas. I think he wants me to buy a present for him.
I contemplated sending a friend $60 USD so she could mail me a gift.
It's hard to be kind, and not have it sound weird.

I end up buying 5 pairs of scissors every year, and I concur those scalpel knives are nice.
I've found they're good for opening packages, cleaning up wood, removing flashing from resin casts, cleaning up finish roughness, and just everything else.
At $1.30USD from China they're excellent, sharp, and have lots of uses especially since the blades are replaceable.

I think I will save it to spend it on plants.

The shops were busy today. I tried to enter practically the only independent bookstore in town and it was so packed i couldnt even get past the first shelves. It seems everyone is buying books as christmas presents, before they all run out.

I didnt buy anything except a train ticket and taco. And a frozen coke. Im a bit shopped out.

The boxing day sales will be crazy.

Still need to swap that grape juice.
Also need. Mustard. Potatoes.

Uncle is bringing ham as usual for christmas lunch, even though nobody really like it, its one of those inescapable/inexplicable christmas traditions.
Another is christmas crackers with really bad jokes.

Thats funny i thought everyone would be last minute gift shopping but that tends to be harried mums and dads, us singles have it sweet.

I only really did the gift thing at the behest of my older sister. I think one year she bought mum a microwave, and my brothers cell phones. They didnt ask for them, but she tends to buy expensive things that we dont really need. One year she bought us designer bottle openers. I never used them, BUT i think, actually today I need one to open that bottle of grape juice. I cant remember where I put it.

This year she isnt coming for christmas. So i dont think anyones doing the gift exchange thing.
Dad just gives us money to spend at the sales.

Mostly makeup and skincare stuff. Thank God I had a $20 off card for that $79 dollar serum. It's completely worth it, though.

Ooo what kind of serum was that? I'm not huge into skincare even though I know I probably should be more concerned.
Have I mentioned before that I love that you also are into makeup. Haha

Yay! Makeup buddies. :hoho:

It's the Vinoperfect Serum from Caudalie. It's for correcting dark spots and uneven skin tone (which I have). It also helps fade my acne marks. It is the best stuff I've ever used and I've tried A LOT of products.
