Also, pyjamas. Our church is donating pyjamas to children who don't have warm homes..or are homeless. I just heard yesterday that if they living homeless they will get taken away from their parents. :-(
Heaps of people now living in garages, cars, hostels, tents, caravans because of the housing problem in our city. Its affecting everyone except the really wealthy who turn a blind eye - like the PM.

Usually, anything that can be attributed solely to poverty is not considered neglect or abuse. In such a situation, the parents are not viewed as being the problem, and the trauma that the children face would likely be greater if they were taken away. And I agree, I think it's a good policy.

The list of books I want to read/use for next year is growing at an alarming rate. Everyone gives me new titles that look good. My bank will shut me down if I buy them all at once though. LOL
Why are education books so expensive? If it were on any other subject it would be $30 but for some reason they're charging $120!

Teachers want to be paid. You'd think theyd get a cut...but its all swallowed up by administrators. Bureaucracy has to earn a living too ya know.

Well not yet thats why we buying pyjamas before it gets cold. Down in the south island they get snow, its relatively mild in auckland. The problem is many of the houses in nz dont have insulation or central heating and are made of wood. And if you dont have a home its even worse.

Bought two christian books on sale, a jigsaw puzzle, and kale seedlings.

Then I saw a lady in a shop wearing the butterfly poncho that i bought but it was white colour. That was random?! Unfortunately I didnt think it looked flattering on her as she didnt really have shoulders and it was sliding down. But for me i have broader shoulders yet im not plus size so Im not really sure about it..it came from a plus size shop .I guess I just liked the butterfly pattern. Im going to have pull out what to wear it with.
I really shouldnt listen to anyone saying oh it look good on you buy it. I dont care how good a thing may look, if its not comfortable and doesnt fit im not wearing it. Too bad its going into winter because its more of a summer garment...it would make a good wall hanging though cos its crochet or kind of macrame.

haha I just read my post and its so rambling but then now I'm thinking.
Some clothes are just pretty they should be hanging on the wall.

I have this chinese kimono that I'm not going to wear as its too small for me. But the embroidered pattern on the back is so pretty that I thought it would make a good cushion cover (flowers and birds) so I thought maybe I could cut it up and sew it, but I don't want to ruin it!

Then I thought, why not find one of those embroidery hoops and hang it on the wall in that.

So I need one thats about 30cm in diameter, but looking online, the biggest available in the store seems to be 25cm. However trademe had a whole bunch, but I just want one. I'm not paying $99 for 17. Maybe there might be one at the op shop.

Or maybe have one of those sewing mannequins/dummies and just dress it in pretty outfits and change it around when I get bored. But where do I find those...?

I'm not an expert but can sew basic things.
However if I try anything and ask mum for help she doesn't bother teaching me just says do it yourself. This annoyed me so now I just ring up the elder ladies in church to show me.

hmm they offered up embroidery hoop but the shipping costs an extra $5.90 if ordering online. For just one item...why can't they offer pickup?!
Dressmaker dummies start from at least $200 brand new. Maybe I don't need one that bad.

embroidery hoop came yesterday.
have now got room diffusers because not allowed candles (I might burn the house down) so I have violet, and vanilla, and also lemongrass scented flowers.
Then I bought 5 new childrens picture books, they are bible ones.

hope dad buys nandos chicken and sweetcorn for lunch. If left to his own devices he just ends up buying meat pies. Which means he doesn't ever get his quota of 5 plus a day vegetables in his diet. Mum has grave fears but she can't force him to eat his veges as she's not HIS mother. I have done a bait and switch and got him onto spring rolls, which at least has cabbage and carrots inside, along with beef mince.
