I think there's a lot of pressure in Christian circles to fit in and less tolerance for differences. You have to think alike, feel alike, etc. to gain approval. Real relationships aren't like that. You have common bonds and attributes that are uniquely yours. But you aren't twinning.

Its taken time to build connections with believers who allow me to be myself. We don't try to change one other, make someone conform, or stop communicating over differences in opinion.

Boaz built a life with Ruth because she valued him and possessed similar traits he esteemed. They weren't trying to change each other. They received their divine complement.

You have to recognize the qualities God placed within you to spot them. She's a help meet. You can't discern who she is until you know where you need assistance. In like fashion, you can't choose the right guide if you don't know where you're heading. How will you determine if he's able to lead you there if you're clueless?

Amen. Since it’s not the same as controlling, it also shouldn’t be taken in that sense.

In that case, prophets are the ones in control of their spirits.

I figure @bèlla and @sampa might get a laugh out of this.

You both were in this very abbreviated dream I had last night. I spent much of the first 21 years of my life at my grandparents' house in Chattanooga, so I imagine that's why it is the setting of probably at least 50% of the dreams I have.

So, Bella and I are sitting cross-legged on each of the beds in the twin bedroom of my grandparents' house drinking wine and hanging out online with the CF singles community on each of our laptops, and apparently Sex and the City is going on the tv nearby (I can't imagine you being a fan of that particular show, Bella, and I know I certainly wasn't ). My sister and I called it the twin bedroom IRL because we both slept in there on twin beds when we were little. All of a sudden, Sampa decides to post her IRL picture on CF and I just start making this gigantic fuss over it. I remember going all to Bella, my wine glass spilling out of my hand and ruining the carpet but apparently I was too enthusiastic too notice, "Dude! Have you seen Sampa?! She says she's 48 years old and yet in this picture she's maybe 35! Check her out! She's HOT!" (Like, come on, we all already know Sampa is beautiful even though we haven't seen her real face yet. ^-^ )

And Bella, looking like her current avatar instead of her IRL self, just looks over her laptop at me across the way after a moment to check out Sampa's pictures for herself, just casually goes, "Hey! I told you! So are you FINALLY going to ask her out or what? Quit stalling, SK!"

But apparently all I can do is just keep going on like, so amazed, "Whoa! Sampa is HOT!"

New report on my progress through RE8 since yesterday. Defeated the third village lord guy at the lake area or whatever that was, with all the windmills and stuff. Kind of felt pity for him, really, as we fought. He seemed to have a huge inferiority complex and obviously felt like an ugly, unlovable freak around ... well ... everyone, human, madman, or lycanthrope.

Then spent two or three hours just wandering around the village area finding extra items in optional nooks and crannies. Also found a giant wolf that's shown up in the wheatfield since I last visited the area just after fighting Lady Dimitri. Apparently meant to be an elite-mook type of monster, but curiously went down after just four magnum shots, so it had much less HP than I was expecting. .... Of course, knowing RE games ever since around 3, that's probably half the total magnum ammo I will even find in the entire game anyway.

Finally, had to stop just before exploring Heisenburg's domain. Considering the cutscene just before this point, that guy is real riot. Whoever voice acted him gives just the perfect level and manner of ham for a game like Resident Evil.

Moreau is a very pitiable character. I feel like they should have done more backstory for him to have the audience sympathize with him better. You do at least understand why he is devoted to Mother Miranda. No one else has shown him kindness.

Heisenberg is a stark contrast to Moreau. He's full of rage while simultaneously being hilarious. He has some of the best scenes in the game. I think he brings in some of the old RE vibes, the classic cheesiness that I love so much.

I've experienced the same, @bèlla. It was like my own children whom I loved with divine affection have left me. I think for most people Isn't it finished yet?

I guess when that is the case with them, people will find it difficult to love others as themselves. Agape is not ruling in their hearts and minds as it ought to. You explained it well here. Most are still fighting themselves and burdened and in bondage. We can't be real. They are still seeing the world through their imperfections and we become unreal if we aren't twinning.

I came on the Internet in my early twenties and landed in a chat room. It seemed normal at first. But it was pretty wild. Nevertheless, there were nice people there. I conversed with my pals. One day I decided to shake things up and speak to the 'odd' ones. I wanted to hear their story.

There's no one I wouldn't talk to. Sometimes they'd come in looking for me and my friends were shocked and said there's no way you talk to her. They assumed they were lying. The experiment was the foundation for the 'ministry' I'd do later on.

I had a swarm of women around me in different stages of pain and brokenness. I had enough love, patience, and belief for all of them. I'd heard it all by then. They could tell me anything. I saw beyond the mistakes and ugliness and renamed them all. The new name represented a quality I saw they couldn't glimpse on their own.

After awhile many began to see as I did. I'd mirror back what I saw and loved them continually. That's usually what's needed. I wish more did the same. We'd have a different church...society...and world if we loved more.

We can't be real. They are still seeing the world through their imperfections and we become unreal if we aren't twinning.

There's a lot of hiding. How can you have victory if you can't lay your burdens down or acknowledge them? How will you receive the prayer and support you need to overcome?

I wish we could have one of those old fashioned church nights. Where breakdowns became breakthroughs and all were touched. Someone stood up and admitted their problem before the congregation with tear-stained cheeks. They laid it out. As they reached the end of their confession they began to sing.

That's how you get delivered. That's how yokes are broken. That's how you get healed. That's you get a fresh infilling too.

Well, to really know something is to master it in a sense, I'd say.

Yet, to be a master doesn't necessarily mean control.

Remember He says not to lord it over people like earthly rulers ...

Not as lords of the flock, but as you would be excellent examples.

...so to be like a master servant.

It's better to have two eyes rather than one.

Learn to celebrate adversity.

This is day 3 of an unexpected event. I'm watching it unfold and wondering about the catalyst. What prompted the move. The Lord dropped a nugget in my spirit and I started clapping and praising Him.

When you're nearing the finish line that's when all hell breaks loose. If you focus on the arrows flying overhead you'll miss the important part. If a blessing wasn't on the horizon he wouldn't be attacking or trying to halt your steps.

He wants to take your eyes off the prize. But keep on running. You're almost there.

Glad to see SarahsKnight has been coming out of his cage and has been doing just fine -- much more so than I remember, or maybe there is a name change somewhere that has me confused.

On that note it would be nice if we had a CF Singles alumni thread with a short story for each about where they've headed off to in life. I've seen a few around from the olden days but almost nobody has the same names any more it's so ridiculous.
