  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A word crossed my thoughts that applies to our discussion. Sober-minded. That's the linchpin we're moving towards. Sober judgment isn't fantasy. Its a realistic estimation of oneself and our circumstances. We don't feed flights of fancy when we're peering through rational lenses. We're grounded and logical.

This doesn't diminish a dream. But it causes us to consider if we're pursuing a practical course or deluding ourselves and living in the clouds.

Thought about it. Lack of limitation is what I want, but not to the extent of losing the working class attitude.

Aim high - and if you only make it a third of the way up the mountain, then you'll still do better than you would have otherwise done if you had never tried at all.

You'll only end up in la la and if you forget who you are. I'm never planning on that.

For a touch of added realism when painting trees, combine oil paint with an acrylic base (this will cause a reaction) and use an artists sponge to dab in the shape of the tree.

When dry, it'll look as if you've painted thousands of individual little leaves. Painted a cherry blossom tree a few days ago and it's looking pretty good now.

Discovered this totally by accident, I wanted to use white oil to create pink but picked up the white acrylic instead...

There are three definitions of self-identity:

Who you believe you are.
Who the world says you are.
Who God destined you to become.

I aim for the latter and dismiss the others. If change is needed so be it. His mark is supreme.

Finally plucked up the courage to send an Email to my father to build bridges. Not easy, because we have a VERY complicated relationship to say the very least. But I couldn't live with that gnawing feeling anymore - that feeling will haunt you in the early hours when concentration drops and tiredness starts to set in.

The last discourtesy was on ME anyway. So it was mine to fix.

Augh... Wouldn't life be easier if we were manufactured?
